  • I reckon I do mine inside and out once a month (about as often as the sheets!). We live in a bungalow so it's dead easy. I'm usually reminded when the sun shines through that you see just how dirty they are and I'm always mortified when I see the hand prints, cat tongue smears etc etc.

I'm quite partial to cleaning windows actually.

This is exactly why I cleaned them this morning. The sun was lying so low and you could see EVERY grubby wee mark.

We had ours done for the first time around 3 and a bit years after we moved in - just because the frames were starting to get a bit of dirt and algae building on them - and wanted to get it cleaned off while it would still budge. Inside is probably a little more frequent, but we just do it as part of regular dusting/cleaning - not a job on its own.

I know what you mean about the sunshine showing up every smear. Also have lots of seagulls here so cleaning is needed probably more often than it gets done.

Ach Is there not more important things to do :)
My downstairs windows were cleaned about 2 years ago when they were fitted, and pretty sure I have cleaned one of the kitchen windows since then cos the sun was shining and I saw dirt so toddled off and did it.
the upstairs windows have not been touched in years mainly cos I reckon they would fall out if they were even touched lightly (slight exaggerating but not by much)
in fact next week I get new windows fitted upstairs and they will all be cleaned after and then I dont intend to touch them til I see dirt very very clearly:rotfl:
