But WHY are you worthy and decent of their employment?

Many disabled people do things which you wouldn't immediately expect them to be able to do. That sculptor, for example. The chap with no legs who climbed Everest. And so on. But the point is they get on and DO them rather than sitting around whinging that no-one gives them the chance to DO things.studentphil wrote: »I am just not right for these jobs but it does not make me an unworthy person.studentphil wrote: »It is worth remembering that I have only applied to one type of employer so far.studentphil wrote: »It does hurt a bit not to get anywhere as they can employ 1000s of other people, but why not me?Um, could it possibly be because your applications have so far have not demonstrated your suitability for the job?

The main things that stick out are:
1 do not take it personally as these employers know nothing about me and so are not rejecting me as a person.
2 Do not expect loads of disability adjustments, so do not aim for typing jobs when I can not type
3 take more time on applications
4 Don't chase a job at uni because they have fancy stuff like colourful robes and Maces.
5 Do not give up, keep going.:beer:0 -

THis is blx, isn't it? I don't believe that any employer has told you anything, because employers don't reply if you are not shortlisted. Which you weren't, and we know why - you didn't focus on the skills they wanted but ranted on about learning methods instead.
Please stop wasting our time. Tam Lin has made a very sensible suggestion in the post above. Please either do that or get down to some revision.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
I admit I am a great big nit wit who is attracted to things like the State Opening of Parliament and the Lord Mayors show because of all the symbols and history and a University has those sorts of things and they attract me as it feels historic and fancy.:beer:0

Liking them does not depend on liking London.
But Universities have their own offical events that involve robes and Maces and so if I worked at a uni I could feel part of a place that had those grand things.
That is an awful reason for wanting to work somewhere I know.:beer:0 -

That is my list of what I have learnt.:beer:0 -
Phil - as you are turned on by robes and glitzy stuff, consider a career as a drag queen. It makes as much sense as your reason for wanting to work in a university!Nelly's other Mr. Hyde0
