I tried this in Music Moneysaving but got zero repsonses
Thought I would try it over here
I currently own 2 iPods - one for the gym - the other one sits in my car and is there in place of a CD Player
I intend to start adding music on a regular basis and was pointed in the direction of Spotify
I understand I can get an account via my son who is a student for £4.99 a month (trying to save money)
http://www.nus.org.uk/en/nus-extra/d...potify-50-off/
Can you download music like you do with iTunes and listen to it offline?
Is it unlimited?
If I do sign up - can I download music onto BOTH - iPods or can I only download onto one of them?
I have looked everywhere for the answers but getting nowhere
Thanks in advance......

If you can get the music into iTunes, you can load it to two iPods, but I thought the whole idea of Spotify was that it is a streaming service, not downloading one....0

Spotify isn't for downloading music. It's just for streaming it. Think of it like radio. I don't know what kind of iPods you have so I don't know if you can get Spotify on them or not. But if you can then you can sign up to Spotify and log into whichever one you're using at the time. You'd need an iPod that can upgrade to iOS 4 like the latest iPod touch or something. But I think they only connect to the net with Wifi (correct me if I'm wrong) so you can't use that at the gym or in the car.
It sounds to me that what you're after is something where you can download music and then put it on your iPods. Spotify isn't what you need from the sound of it!Hi. You dont mention which ipod but If (and only if) you have 2 iPod touches then the spotify app on IOS has an offline mode where you choose which playlist you want to have available offline (ie no wifi connection).
I don't see an reason why you couldn't do this on two devices. I know that you can only connect 1 device at a time 'online' but if you are offline, neither machine will know the other is playing so I'm sure it will work fine.
If its a reglar iPod then you cannot sync spotify music with iTunes so it won't work.

according to jayme1 - who responded on another thread you can download
"You install the Spotify app (therefore they need to be an iPod touch), sign in with your Spotify Premium account (which as you say is £4.99 with the student discount) you can then search and listen to an unlimited amount of music, you also have the option to download some or all of your playlists for offline playback.
I think the limit for mobile devices is 2 so that covers both your iPods.
I have used Spotify on both an iPod and a N95 at the same time and it works really well, I cannot fault it.
Download and install spotify for your computer sign in (think it requires Facebook now), you then have Spotify Free
download and install the Spotify app to your iPod touches and sign in that will give you 48hrs of Premium to try it out (including offline download on the desktop) http://www.spotify.com/uk/mobile/overview/"0
