  • Morning flyers

Not sure how much I'll get to do on the list today as I have caved in and booked a hair appointment. I have had very short hair for donkey's years and I fancy a shoulder length style, but it's now a mess and doing my head in - I wonder what the hairdresser will conjure up - I usually offer my head up to her and she just gets on with it as I trust her and she's really good.

So whilst in town (16 miles away) I'm going to take the 10 bags of clothes I had the children sort last night to a cashforclothes type place and see if I get a few pennies and buy some printer cartridges so DS can finally do his homework!

I'm also working from 5pm until 10pm tonight, so will need some "down time" during the day (yeah right, like that's going to happen!!!!), but I may flit in and out of the list if only to Level 1.

Tuesday - Lovely Living Rooms and Safe Stairs
    Level One
Vacuum floors in these areas, even if around clutter
    Clear anything from the stairs!
    Level Two
Move things so you can vacuum under them
Vacuum and wipe (if needed) sofas
Dust any areas below eye level
    Level Three
Dust anything above eye level (if safe to do so)
Clear anything that shouldn't be where it is, should the magazines really be on the floor?

Extra tasks if you want to do more
Clean windows in these areas, check curtains/nets/blinds while you are there, do they need a clean?
Check you have your Christmas card list done, if it's not done at least spend 10 minutes on it
Spend 15 minutes sorting paperwork, dealing with anything urgent NOW
27 Fling Boogie, you know the routine, grab a bag and clear that clutter!
Clean out the vacuum cleaner, empty the bag/bucket, clean filters if they are washable MAKE SURE YOU DON'T PUT THEM BACK UNTIL THEY ARE DRY!

    Have a great day!

All appointments were gone at the drs and I'm not in the right frame of mind to sit and wait.

Kids taken to school. DS1 wouldn't get up and missed the college bus again. Really concerned about him now. He's not in a good place.

DW unloaded, WM x 2. Washing up done, sink bleached. Downstairs loo cleaned. I'm attempting to clear out the shoe cupboard by the front door. A lot of chucking has taken place. We have so many pairs of football boots. I'm going to give them a good clean and pass them on to others with smaller feet. DS3 is too far behind to save them for 6 years.
Now to get the Hoover in the cupboard. I wish I had the skills of Houdini.

Hugs for you, a tough question but could he be taking anything, smoking anything? Have you checked his internet activity, can you gain access to hs FB? DH is back at work, he was shakey and achey and dizzy.

Back from the paid stuff, just having a cuppa then I need to decide wha I'm doing next. Helping in DS3 class tis afternoon.

I;m back....I bought 2 new mop heads in MrT earlier, the same as I always buy. I found they are twice the price and half the size they used to be. I have real wood flooring and am thinking of getting a steam mop ( I have a hand held one and find it quite good(only a cheap one)), Does anyone else use one and what are they like?? Any advice gratefully received, TIA xx
  • It's me again

Back from the hairdressers who agreed I should carry on growing it as it's more long than short now, so she just cracked on with it and I'm human looking again.

Dropped off the bags at Cashforclothes - just over 9kg, so £4.50 in my pocket, then went to Mr A for printer cartridges - Asda's own £5 each or 2 for £8 - bargain!

Feeling very positive and it's stopped raining, so once I've had this cuppa I'm off out with the pooch to the lakeshore whilst the sun is TRYING to get out and stock up on some Vitamin D for a couple of hours.

Other than cooking dinner for tonight and school runs, it looks like the list is going to get added onto tomorrow's.

Must make the most of this weather though and get out with the dog. Have you seen the front of the newspapers today? - bitterly cold from now until the end of the YEAR - brrrrrr - double-check your car is winter ready everybody and stock up on "stay indoor day" essentials.

    Ta-ta for now

One Nightmare Lodger decluttered - she is GONE GONE GONE owing a week's rent that in the end I just could not be bothered to press her for. Infuture, no-one will be allowed to pay in arrears under any circumstances. OH, who likes, and gets on, with pretty much everyone is skipping about the house, and Lovely Lodger has told us something we had not known before. Suffice it to say, no-one in this house will miss that woman. I bought a bottle of Cava in Morribunds last week in anticipation of today's event and we are looking forward to sharing it this evening with a meal OH will cook for me (fabby chappy). NL paid a slightly lower rent on the basis that she changed her own bedding and dusted and vacuumed the room. First time I've ever seen a spider that size, and the carpet is in a worse state than I have ever seen it before but - SHE'S GONE GONE GONE! I'm just so relieved - in nineteen years we can count on the fingers of one hand the people whose company we have not enjoyed and who were nothing but effort and hard work, and this lady is Number Three.

Today will be busy mucking out the room she occupied. Half the work was done at 3.30am, but it needs another serious go once the couple have surfaced - they finally arrived at 11.00pm last night, and Lovely Lodger arrived back at 6.00 am as expected so no-one except the dog got a good night's sleep. The cat is wired!

The dog, sadly, is leaking all over the place again and not in a good way at all. I'm hoping that it's just that she picked up on the tensions, but I fear not. Hey ho, at least I have a carpet washer now.

Once again I have a car load of washing. First question of the day, how do I get the mascara out of NL's white Next (matching bedding) pillowcase?
    Better is good enough.

Managed a quick tidy around and also emptied the bins and loaded the wm. Off to help at school for a bit now.
