Assuming this employee has union rep and the procedure is as follows.
First written warning - they appeal
second written warning - they appeal
dismissal - they appeal.
please give timescales for both scenario's...
1) They win the appeals
2) They lose the appeals.
thanks in advance for your help

How long is a piece of string - that example doesn't really tell us anything for example the appeal could be on very liberal grounds and could be shot down immediately.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

Are you the employer, the employee or the union rep?
It can be any amount of time and you don't have to go in that order - you can skip straight to dismissal if they are thought to have committed gross misconduct. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
The obvious answers are
1. Never
2. Depends. (how good/quick you are at managing the appeal process)
Remember appeals and next step can run concurently0 -
I am the employee sambuca,
getmore4less do you mean another disiplinary can be given whilst an appeal is ongoing?
what if a certain person is being reported for nothing i.e malicious complaints. Can a greivance and disiplinary go on at the same time.
I havn;'t had a formal meeting or HR meeting yet just chats. just preparing for worst0 -
What have you done or what have you been accused of doing? If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

No I didn't, it's petty/false reporting.
Can you raise concerns about false accusations i.e grievance0 -
But as far as I am aware in any company you can't win an appeal. As managment normally sides with management0

If i can get this job to last just 12 months and get the qualification im doing ill be out of there.
Just wondering if through holidays greivances and appeals I could keep it for 12 month before leaving. I need it for 12 month either way to finish the course0
