I havent paid my Vodafone bill - How do I talk to a REAL person?

Options
Hello,

Quick question, I am tied up to a Vodafone contract till next Christmas and I lost my job a month back and havent paid my 2 most recent bills.

Its the only 'credit' I have now but I just havent had the cash to pay 2 x £50, I keep trying to ring 191 to talk to someone but all I get is that calls from this phone are restricted and that I need to contact a Customer Service Team??!!??

Just viewed my bill online as I get a small payment from my ex company in lieu of expenses so was going to clear the bill, but an extra charge of £198 has just appeared on my bill.

I am totally confused and I really need to talk to an actual person. Any ideas

If I had discovered MSE this time last year I may not be going down the road to BR

Call from an alternative phone, the number will be on the contact us section of the Vodafone website.

If you cannot call from an alternative phone, visit a Vodafone Store and call for free from there.

Use the on-line service to set up a call back to your mobile. That is if the above is not feasible.

Unfortunately if you've gone as far as two months into arrears then extra charges may have well have been added.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Sounds like the term fees have been added - so they are readying your account for collections. You need to find the money from somewhere, or set up a formal arrangement with them soon to avoid them filing a default, and trashing your credit for the next six years.

The worst thing you can do is cancel your DD and then not contact them. They won't ignore you, even if you ignore them.

Calling them on 08700 700191 (from any UK number) will get you through to someone who will be able to discuss your account with you.

Please don't leave it to get worse, or it may affect your future eligibility for credit.
  • You'd better also hope that when you DO get through on the phone a) they give you the right information (often they don't), b) actually DO what they say they will (usually they don't) and c) don't end up creating a worse mess than you're already in (a favourite game of theirs).

If all else fails (as it usually does with Vodaclown) send an urgent email via their website with the heading "WRT135". THAT will go to the Web Relations Team who in my (unfortunately) vast experience with this disorganisation are the ONLY people in it who 1) CARE and 2 )actually resolve problems rather than creating new ones. You really do need to sort this out without delay as has been stated or you will have worse problems elsewhere before too long.

    Hi roougers,

If you'd like me to take a closer look at your bills in order to clear up the confusion could you email me with the relevant details via the link in our profile here?

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it will take you to the Contact us form on our website.

To ensure that it reaches us could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line and once our automated reply arrives update the thread with your email reference number and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

    Kind regards,

    Lee

  • Be extremely careful with Vodafone. I had problems but paid the bill only to find 3 years later they had put a default on my credit file. They will default you very quickly.
  • Utterly disgusting how they do default when you have previously been in touch with Vodafone and explained situation. Particularly when you haven't received a bill and you request another so you can check. Would be fine if you could access the online account, but thats a different story.

It does not take much for them to get in touch with you. they are very quick to harass you when contact renewals are up. Grrrrrrrrrrr. So fed up with the service I have received. However, someone is finally been very helpful, bearing in mind the issue was the middle of Aug and it is now Dec!!!!!!
