My Hermes [text removed by MSE Forum Team], terrible service, do not use!

My sister bought my daughter a play kitchen for her Christmas present and decided to use My Hermes to send it to me as she lives 200 miles away.
The parcel was to be collected from her house, to which she waited in to then heard the letterbox to which it was the courier man putting a card through the letterbox saying there was no one at home. She confronted him and he said he had been ringing the doorbell and knocking on the door but no answer. She told him she had been at home all the time and would have heard him if he had. Anyway he takes the parcel.
She then phones up My Hermes and complains about him.
6 days later she asks me if I have the parcel, as it was supposed to be delievered in 3-5 days. No I don't have the parcel.
She rings up My Hermes and is told the driver must have got the hump about her and that he hasn't passed the parcel on for delivery and that they will contact his area manager and then ring her back that day(friday) or the next day (saturday - today).
No phone call as of yet.
So where is the parcel? He has refused to pass it on for delivery so he must have it at his house.
My sister even wrote on the parcel - For baby ****, do not open til Christmas, so he must have no heart if he has [text removed by MSE Forum Team] a child's Christmas present.
I am totally shocked by the service of My Hermes and has put me off from ever using them, ever.
I know not everyone who works for My Hermes is like this however the way it has been handled is not particularly good, surely they must be able to get the parcel from him.

She only phoned them yesterday. You need to give them a little while longer to investigate, imo.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I have to say that my experience of Hermes is not great either. The Christmas before last, I ordered a Thorntons hamper for my children and hubby. When it eventually arrived over a week late, in the box, instead of £60 worth of choccie treats, there was one smashed up chocolate reindeer and one of those cardboard wine carriers from Sainsburys. The only way this can have made ts way into the box was by someone removing the hamper, putting the cardboard wine carrier in and taping it up again! After a great deal of chasing around and irate phone calls, Thorntons replaced the hamper. I have not used Hermes sinceTwins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0

...or maybe you could have got it wrong?0 -
What does the tracking say? I've noticed sometimes the tracking shows the parcel going what seems to be a long way round (Into one depot, on to van, into another depot, onto another van, etc) but as long as I can see it moving around I figure it isn't lost and will get there eventually.
OP should get her sister to look at the tracking to put her mind at rest until she can ring up.
aims for 2014 - grow more fruit and veg, declutter0 -
Ordered some items a few weeks back from Debenhams for xmas.
Came back from a few days away to find a note from my hermes saying items left under car.....
No items there.
Called Debenhams who then resent item. I was in this time but hermes decided to chuck item over fence into a large wheelbarrow full of water. Item trashed.
Debenhams are now out of stock in this item. Debenhams have been very good but hermes are a complete waste of space.0 -
So if the parcel is not at his house, he must have sold it on!! My Hermes have not had the parcel from him, yet they should have done, this was over a week ago now.My daughters are my world0

The tracking shows it has been collected from my sister but he hasn't taken it to the depot which means he still has the parcel in his van/house/garage etc.
When she phoned up they told her he should have handed it into the depot by now.
I am not changing the title as until he does hand it over then he has stolen it.My daughters are my world0 -
Speak to Hermes, if no joy, simple, tell them you are going to speak to the Police - might shock em enough to actually do something, after all he has had it for over a week now0

Good idea Buellguy.
I would have thought though that any company would want to keep their "good name" and would investigate the employee as a priority.0 -
Had 2 debenhams parcels delivered by Hermes, one thrown over the back gate which was locked and another thrown in to the bushes 'by bin, next to gate' with no date on the card. It was pouring with rain for days last week when I was away and I had get a torch and literally climb through bushes to get to it, the shoe box was soggy but thankfully my new shoes were fine. I will be collecting from store in future!0
