    Good idea Buellguy.

I would have thought though that any company would want to keep their "good name" and would investigate the employee as a priority.

I agree with you! Although, they might have successful deliveries but a few screwed up ones will ruin their name. Especially that everything is online and easily viral!

I am a bit upset with my order from asos now myself. My tracking says:

    Date Time Status
    28/11/2012 11:22 Courier to Re-attempt
28/11/2012 06:32 Out For Delivery To Courier
    27/11/2012 22:39 Processed at Depot
    27/11/2012 22:09 Receipt at Depot
26/11/2012 22:29 Hub Sorter Receipt Scan
    25/11/2012 23:17 Order Generated

I ordered on Saturday (24th) and kept track of its progress. When I got the "Out For Delivery To Courier" this early morning, I decided to stay in as I'm waiting for another delivery from Warehouse which is due to arrive today through Yodel. Why does it say "Courier to Re-attempt"?? I was home and watching the door/ listening to the doorbell all day. I'm not yet losing hope for both my orders by yodel and hermes. I just wish I went to the shops or made sure it was special delivery I chose!

Courier reattempt means the hub will try and deliver to the courier again.

All I can say is when I see thee Yodel and Hermes complaints, If select the cheapest on a parcel site or standard delivery/cheap delivery, You cannot complain when issues like this happen. If you was willing to pay more you'd get a better service.

I could have sent a parcel via parcel2go for £6.49 which would be Yodel. I paid £9.99 for UPS. I got a better service. (Picked up in a time slot I requested with UPS and delivered 11am next day)
  • i have had problems with these too...i ordered my husband and sons some xbox games from the internet and they came quite quickly i was really impressed.
until i went to open the package i noticed it had been ripped and patched up with blue tape :/ found the discs had been taken out the boxes ! i was not happy , i did complain but was told to complain to the place i ordered from!

i would never use them to courier anything . i always use interlink
  • Ive never personally had a problem with hermes but it all depends who the people are that deliver in your area, the ones in my area are nice and are here a fair bit but id prefer them over some over companies.
  • As a Hermes courier I always do my best to deliver parcels to the customer on the allocated day. I always make sure that a safe place is as safe as possible......I accept some couriers will give us a bad name but it's the same all over.
I could rant about people ordering things and then no-one being home to receive them ....or having no safe place to leave them....but I won't...its all part of the job.

I'm waiting on a parcel dispatched last Tuesday, I put on it to leave in shed if I was out but the Hermes courier has totally ignored that and just out the "you were out" card through the door! And a week to arrive??

I'm pleased to say my regular Hermes courier is back. He's been off sick for a while and we had a few nightmare couriers in his absence.
  • I have to agree with the OP. I have had a lot of difficulties with Hermes too. I ordered a lot of stuff from Debenhams and after a few lost deliveries the driver turned up in a dusty battered out Nissan Micra smelling of cigarette smoke. Needless to say that would never happen with the likes of UPS.

I presume the large retailers use them because they must be dirt cheap?

Well if they were delivered on the day the say they were going to delivery people are more likely to be in.
