    Hi All,

I had an account with Monument.
I wrote to them reclaiming overcharges (including interest) of £548.18.
They wrote back stating that the account had been sold to MAX Recovery, they also returned my £10.00 Postal Order.
Who is liable for the refund? Monument or Max?
I think its Monument! As they issued the initial charges.

Your thoughts and advice are appreciated

    Kind Regards,
    Graeme

Just after a bit of advice...

I have been asking Monument for all my charges and interest for a few months. Last month they finally offered to pay everything back biggrin.gif

Has anyone else been offered this? If so how long did it take you to actually receive the money? I've been chasing them now for a month and have heard absolutely nothing from them. Is there anything else anyone could suggest I do to actually get the money off them?!

What have they said about the delay?
Have you kept a copy of what you have been signed and sent?
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

I've had absolutely no response at all since they offered the full amount with interest. I've written about three letters to them since, copying everything in but with no joy. I've kept copies of everything I've sent

I sent a request for information to Monument, intending to claim from them in due course.:money:

They sent my letter (and Postal Order) back with a compliment slip stating that the account had been sold to "Max Recovery" of Leeds.

My gut feeling is that they are trying to dodge the issue......

How can another company be responsible for refunding these charges?

    Any wise words appreciated.

    Cheers, Graeme

    Hi guys

I have just completed the 1st template letter and will post this off tomorrow with my £10 postal order, my confusion is over the Payment Break Plan.

For the last 4ish years Monument have been part of my DMP with CCCS but the total never goes down, until recently it was still going up:rolleyes: now every credit that is made is countered with a Payment Break Plan charge so the balance never moves:mad: this really is soul destroying. So I have decided to try hit back by claiming back charges to try get the balance down.

What I want to know more about is this Payment Break Plan, I've seen people mention claiming this back too, can I do this or is there some condition to it?

I sooo hate this company for the misery, I know I got myself into debt but I have been trying for years to dig myself out but with Monument I am getting absolutely nowhere:wall:

So any help with the Payment Break plan would be really appreciated :o
