Hi everyone - and a belated happy new year :)

Been out for lunch today with my friend as it's her birthday. I budgeted £25, but it only cost £15 as I had a voucher. We're meeting up again next week to see Les Miserables. I've been trying to find someone to see it with. It's not my OH's thing and my family didn't want to know either. Mind you, don't think I'd be as keen to see it if Hugh Jackman wasn't in it :iloveyou:

Last month was such a wash out work wise that I am sooooo skint (what with the chicken pox and then getting one in my eye, I physically couldn't use the computer to do much work). I've had to borrow my rent money from my sister as the landlord wouldn't renew my lease until it was paid. So I need to work my butt off this month to get a decent income in February.

My home office is all set up. The chair is really comfy, so I can sit there for hours and work. It fits in much better than the table and chairs too, so it has created more space.

    Morning :)

OH is dying. He has a cold, but he thinks it's pneumonia. I told him that he would have really bad chest pain and problems breathing with pneumonia, but he insists it's worse than a normal cold. He's being a typical man basically. He has gone sick today and says that he's not going back this week. I'm going to get some peace round my mum's in an hour or so. Can't handle his moaning.

My plan for work this month is to do a mixture of Textbroker and 63336. It's quite quiet on 63336 during the day at the moment, so I figure if I can do some articles whilst waiting for questions to come in, then I can still be earning decent money. Alright in theory, but 63336 is slow at the moment and there are no articles available on TB (although I have already done 2 this month). I guess whilst I'm waiting for articles on TB and questions on 63336, I can be doing surveys.

    Hi Emz
Just dropping in to say 'hello' and wish you better health, lots of happiness and success in 2013. The chickenpox sounds awful, these illnesses are so much easier when we get them as children! The eye situation must have been horrendous so I'm really glad the year is starting off positively for you. Being worried about money is bad enough on its own (I could write the definitive book on that subject:eek:) without health issues getting in the way.

Have been a long-time follower of your diaries (only 'found' this new one by happy accident) as a very interested reader but not a poster. Thought I'd post more this year, although I never feel my thoughts and doings are of much interest to anyone else. Everyone else's life seems so much more 'vivid' than mine even without money!

LesMis sounds brilliant from he reviews and excerpts I've seen. I really hope it turns out to be enjoyable for you, a girlie evening will do you the world of good. No fun sitting through a film with a disgruntled guy who would prefer to be somewhere else:eek:

Please could you give a clue as to the self-employed work you do (if it isn't sensitive information). I know you did AQA (63336) but I wouldn't have thought that would have generated a livable income. I keep plodding on trying to get into it but they NEVER seem to be recruiting new personnel:mad: . The reason I ask about about the self-employment is that I need to go down that route and am stumped as to what direction to take.

P.S. Wrote this before you posted your last posting which pretty much explains all. Sorry to waste your time. If you have a mo, please could you explain what Textbroker is?

That's enough rabitting from me. No posts whatsoever on your diaries and then suddenly I won't shut up:o

Health, happiness and success to all your followers.
    Take care

    Hi :)

Thanks for posting to say hello. I've sent you a PM about being self-employed.

Textbroker is writing articles online. If you head on over to the up your income board, there's a whole thread on it there.

    Good luck

  • Thanks so much for the really useful PM, Emz, you're a star:A

I typed out a long PM in response yesterday but when I clicked on 'send' (or thought I did:o) it all disappeared and there was no way I could retrieve it. It certainly hadn't gone on its way to you as it wasn't in my 'sent' box so it is a total mystery what happened there. . Computers, eh? Can't live without them but can't live with them either sometimes!

Will be contacting you again as soon as I get a few clear minutes. Sorry if you thought I was being impolite ignoring your lovely and useful PM but I did try, honestly.

Have a good day. I hope you don't catch OH's lurgy.

    Hi Emz,

Just popped in to say hi. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope this one is better for you!

Also very glad that you got over your chicken pox and eye pox :D

You seem to deal with illness with great integrity and grace.

Here's to a great 2013 for you and your OH xx

    Hey everyone

I'm not sure if I'm going to continue posting on here. Been thinking a lot over the past few days and feel that I would be a fraud to keep this diary going.

You see, whilst I'm still going to pay back my priority debts (council tax etc), I'm just going to keep the other debts ticking over (they are all with DCAs and are all happy to accept £10 a month token payments because of my health). I'm never going to be able to buy a house, which to be honest I'm not that bothered about. Therefore, I don't feel that I will ever need to get more credit, so can live with a bad credit rating.

There are things I want to do in my life, and I don't want to get to the stage where I'm too ill to do any of them, and all I have to show for it is that I'm £20,000 in debt and not £40,000. I know that must sound terrible to people, but I don't know how long I've got left living with reasonable health.

So whilst I will be clearing my debts very slowly, I will be spending money on doing stuff that people on here can't afford to do, because they have to clear their debts. Hence why I would feel like a fraud. I'm thinking about starting a blog instead of this diary, so will post a link if I start one. I'm going to start a sort of Day Zero list, but not have a time limit on it, so I can just add stuff as and when I think of it.

Emz, I will miss you if you stop posting :(

Never feel like a fraud - we all do whatever we think is best with our lives, and there's nothing wrong with those decisions.

Would love a link if you do a blog - would love to see what you get up to :D

Anyway, I've really appreciated your support while I've been clearing my debts, so thank you :A
