    Merry Christmas everyone :rudolf:

Thanks for the seasons greetings Buffy and Loz :A

I've got the all clear from the hospital regarding my eye. They said it has healed nicely. They did advise me to leave my contacts out for another week though. It's so nice not to have to put creams and drops in my eye 5 times a day. I was really getting sick of it.

I've had a good day today. Got some lovely presents, including a new coat (which was desperately needed!), my favourite perfume and enough toiletries to open my own branch of Superdrug.

Does anyone remember my mission to get a free bed using Amazon vouchers a couple of years back? (I had to put £20 towards it in the end I believe). Well, I'm on another mission. I'm going to try and get a desk chair and a butterfly dining set for nothing. We're getting rid of the dining table, but would love a table that we can store away just in case we need it. Also want to get my little home office sorted out. I reckon I need around £300 to get both of them. I've already got £28 and am waiting for another £15.

Thanks Lou :A - I hope you had a lovely Christmas :rudolf:

I've spent some of my Amazon money on a gift for my friend's birthday in early January. I spent £12.63, which included a card. However, I received a £30 Argos gift card from my grandma and uncle yesterday, so I'm going to put that towards a desk chair. I'm going to put my dining table and chairs on Gumtree and hope that they sell, so I can put that money towards the chair too. Then all I need to do is save £250 on Amazon to get the dining set.

OH's parents bought a new sofa yesterday (even though they are sooooo skint!!). Now they want to give us their old one just so they can get rid of it. OH is dead keen, I don't really want it. I've got a lovely chenille sofa that is only a couple of years old. It's big, squashy and so so comfy. His parent's one is older than that, a 2 seater and 2 chairs (which won't all fit in our living room) and not as comfy. They also have a black dog (it's a cream suite) so I'm sure I'll be forever finding black hairs on it. Plus, I can imagine what it will be like when they come to visit - 'well that is our sofa', 'like our sofa do you?', 'I'll take a seat on my sofa' etc etc. I'm going to have to have serious words with OH when he gets back.

I agree Lou. If they want rid of it so bad, they can give it to charity.

Might have a buyer for my table and chairs already :j

    Afternoon everyone

Quite a successful day. I sold my table and chairs for £40 this morning. I then reserved a chair in Argos and went down there this afternoon to pick it up. It cost £27.99 (reduced in the sale), so I didn't have to put any money towards it :). I then took my mum to Asda and she got me a few bits that I needed to say thank you for running my grandma and uncle around on Boxing Day.

With the £40, I'm taking my friend out for lunch a week Monday as it's her birthday. I'm going to use a 2 carveries for £10 voucher that I got at Christmas, so hopefully it won't cost anymore than £20 (inc drinks and a dessert). I've also got the hospital a week today, so will need the diesel and parking money for that (although I will try my best to park for free).

So tonight, I plan on moving my desk from my bedroom into my new home office and putting my chair together. Exciting stuff.

    Hello Emz,

Happy New Year to you. I hope you achieve all you want to in 2013. Including all the things you want to buy. You sound like you have a good plan and are very organised.

I agree on the sofa too! I hope you get it sorted with your OH.

Take care and great news that your eye is better. xx
