Thanks JM, MT and Buffy.
Went back to the hospital this morning and it's not conjunctivitis, it's a chicken pox spot in my eye!! So I've got some antibiotic drops plus the ointment I was given yesterday which I have to use for a week and then it's back off to the hospital.
No contact lenses for a week = big problems for me. I can't drive, work, watch tv etc etc as I can't wear my contacts. Can't handle another week of this, so I've just spent £93 on a pair of glasses that will hopefully be ready tomorrow. I've been meaning to get a pair for ages and I really need to start working again.

Evening
I can see again :j. It's kind of weird wearing glasses again. The floor looks like it's sloping. I think I'm getting used to them anyway.
Sorry I haven't been reading other people's diaries recently. I was posting on here from my iPhone as I couldn't use the laptop. But I'm back on it now.
I am seriously skint now that I've spent nearly £100 on these glasses. I'm thinking of wearing them for a few months to save on contact lenses and only wear them when I go out. I doubt I'll be able to wear contacts again before the new year anyway. This spot on my eye shows no signs of going.
In terms of Christmas presents, I'm going to have to use OH's rent money for the majority of them. He gets paid on the 21st December, so I'll be leaving it late, but will be able to do it.
Going to get back to work tomorrow. I haven't been able to work for the past week, so need to get started if I don't want to start 2013 off with no money.

Morning
Thought I would post a quick update.
I've still got this chicken pox spot on my eye. I've been to and fro from the hospital for the past week. It doesn't fill me with much confidence when the eye specialist doctors say that they have never seen such a bad case and actually took a picture of my eye as a case study.
I've had so many creams, ointments and drops to put in my eye it's ridiculous. The first lot they gave me didn't seem to do anything at all. I'm now putting 5 (yes, 5!) different things in my eye and one of them seems to be improving it.
I haven't been able to work like I thought I would be able to when I got my glasses. My eye has been so sensitive to light, it would just literally stream every time I tried to spend some time on the laptop. I didn't think that was helping, so I'm resigned to the fact that January is going to be a tight month!! It doesn't seem as sensitive now, but I'm going to wait until I go back to the hospital on Monday and see if they take me off all the drops and ointments.
I hope everyone is well.

Hello.
I know it's the early hours. What am I doing up? I'm stuck on the uncomfortable airbed as OH's parents are visiting. Haven't been able to sleep much at all. I'm actually considering moving to the sofa in a minute. I'm trying not to moan though as it is Christmas!!
My eye is finally getting better. I haven't had the all clear from the hospital yet so still have my glasses on. I've got to go back on Monday and am still putting loads of drops etc in it.
Right, I'm going to relocate to the sofa and hope I can get a few more hours sleep.

Hi Loz
They are going home tomorrow thank God. I didn't manage to get to sleep again. I'm trying really hard to bite my tongue and not moan.
We're going out for a Christmas meal tonight. His mum said to me last month that if we booked it and paid the deposit (£20) then they would pay the rest. We went for breakfast this morning and OH and I paid for all of us seeing as they were paying for the meal tonight. His mum looked up and said 'oh, we're paying for it are we? Well that's crafty, that will cost a lot more!!'. I couldn't believe what she was saying. I reckon that with the £20 deposit taken off, the bill won't be anymore than £50, so technically with breakfast, we would have paid the same.
Sorry, really trying hard not to complain, but it's so hard!
