Sorry I didn't reply to anyone yesterday. Reason being that I spent ages round my mum's waiting for the blokes to finish the window. They were there for 12 hours doing 1 bay window!!! They have made a good job of it, but surely it shouldn't take that long. They left at 8pm last night. In that time, I couldn't get online and my phone was dangerously low on battery.
CBC - Lou already kindly replied to you, but yes PADding is sending a payment off everyday to one of your debts so that it's decreasing everyday, even if it's just by a small amount. There's a thread about it in the forum
MT - I love that idea!! I was kind of trying it out on my OH last night. Instead of the Thunderbird thing, I imagined that he was in a bubble. I will definitely be trying that out with his parents.
Must get cracking as need to leave in 10 minutes to do my auntie duties.

Tidied the flat up (not as well as I usually do it, still took me 3 hours though!). I told OH that if I hear one negative comment regarding anything in my flat (joking or not) then they will be out of the flat and looking for a hotel for the night.
I also asked him what seriously gives them the right to come into my home and demand that I give up my bed and sleep on the sofa. He replied that they were old. My response was 'but I'm old'. He just laughed. So I explained that the average life expectancy for an adult in the UK is 80.4 years. His dad is the older of the 2 and he's 70. The average life expectancy of someone with cystic fibrosis is 38. I'm 32 next month. Therefore, I am closer to my average life expectancy than they are. Who is older now?? He didn't say anything because I think he knows I'm right.
I'm going to speak to his mother and say that in future they're going to have to stay in a hotel when they want to visit. We only have a 1 bed flat with 4 rooms (inc the bathroom) and it's just not on that they stay over for 2 nights at a time and I get very little sleep when they do. I know it will cause problems, but they are being so selfish and these visits are getting more regular. If we had a 2 bedroom flat, I wouldn't mind as much, but having to give my bed up really annoys me, even if it is just for 2 nights.
Wish me luck with that!!

Good luck Emz!
Seriously though, I think that is more than fair, someone needs to pull them up on it. It doesn't seem either like they don't realise that they are the way they are, it sounds like they are deliberately out for what they can get.

Not harsh at all. Just the truth. My sister's in-laws come down from up north quite often and since my nephew was given his own room, they stay in a hotel as there isn't a spare bed anymore. They wouldn't dream of turfing my sister and BIL out of their bed. It's just manners, but they don't seem to have any.

I'm not even going to complain anymore. I'm fed up with complaining. I've been awake since 3am and got up at 4am.

I'm so tired. Managed to escape to pick my niece up from school.
A summary of their visit so far:
We had a takeaway last night. His dad ordered £15 worth of food for the two of them. I said that I couldn't afford that much and he paid for it but I later got £10 out to cover mine OH's meal. He took the money without a thank you and didn't offer to pay for the lot.
We went for breakfast this morning. OH paid for the lot. They didn't say thank you.
I spoke to his mum about in future I won't be able to sleep on the sofa etc. She just said 'oh well, it's not very often and it's only two days and then just changed the subject.
His parents have now had a row about visiting other relatives tomorrow. When I left the house they weren't talking to each other.
We're supposed to be going out for a meal when I get back. Will be good to see who pays and if they're talking to each other.

Good grief Em, I knew they were bad (I have been reading about them for ages) but really can they get any worse. I hope you stick to your plan and not let them stay over in your bed from now on. What an ungrateful selfish pair they are!0
