Hi all.

To cut the story short:

was with them for around a month, give or take a few days, and was disgusted by the service they had given me such as threats being made whilst I was abroad about paying a deposit because my bill was apperently quite high (I have no problem paying that) or they would cancel my account.

Waited more than 30 minutes everytime to speak to customer services about on going issues with their website and quality of customer service and to complain about the rudeness and nature of the "threat" given to me, whilst I was away.

Went instore - same problem. wait 20 minutes minimum to get served before they say that I have to ring up customer services for the matter at hand.

List goes on really!

I sent them a letter of complaint, with an invoice attached for loss of business (to try and get the matter and issues I had with them resolved) and inconvenience to which they basically said they will give a little credit (£17) and then the threat of getting an agency on me and to put a mark on my credit rating, which I would not be happy about since my credit rating is "excellent".

So basically they arent going to pay my invoice, or just to part ways and let that be it - they dont care about customers and give me the threat of what they are going to do.

I just want to part ways with them and not have to deal with them, they shouldnt tell me the pay anything more because of the service I have recieved. I hope you understand where I am coming from with this and as you may know, everyone seems to get away with everything! There comes a point where enough is enough and now, its about principals here.

why should I continue to be with them (I am not, I transferred my number to another provider now), pay for their service which does not work really and are completely rude? how can they get away with that?!

what should I do?

  • Are you in contract with them?
  • yes. was a 24 month contract (since that is what the minimum is these days) but again, unhappy with their service and threats within 2 weeks of using them. And the hassle with them, such as poor customer service and their online system does not work
  • I think you will find that you have to pay the rest of the contract and that they will pursue you for it.
How did you manage to transfer your number?
  • easily. :)
eventually got through to disconnections. they gave me a PAC code and that was it.

so even though I got treated poorly and their services dont work or partially work... i still have to pay?

wow. a new low for britian. how can such companies STILL continue to operate, then they go on and on about customer not having a choice and have to put up with bullying
  • It's unusual I think to get a PAC code before the end of the contract.
Did they say that you would NOT be bound by the contract?
  • nope. nothing like that at all. not even in writing. not even verbally. not even in person.
  • Maybe you are lucky then, lets hope so. Someone more knowledgable will come along too
  • thanks. i appreciate your responses.

You can leave at any time you want, and they will give you the PAC, but they will still charge you the early termination fee, the mobile companies dont seem to demnand the early termination fee there and then via debit card anymore like they have done previously though and now seem happy to just add it to a final bill on the next billing date.

This was certainly the case with T-Mobile recently.

Keep an eye on your credit file, they will be all too happy to default the bill if you havent paid it and record this on your credit file.

O2 once assured me by phone that I was fully paid up and would recieve no further bills and I was disconnected as requested at the end of the contract.

I heard no more at all from them until a debt collection letter landed on the doormat, seems they went on to generate a £3 bill which due to me previously using online billing, never knew existed. They flat out refused to remove this from my credit file.
  • well i havent received anything yet....
