Thanks everyone, Karma that is so funny that the third heading is already in use. Its nice to know I am not alone with my struggles to stay track.
It is so annoying because if I had managed to stick with it, I would have been seeing some really changes by now .
I have cut up and thrown away all the credit cards. Have vowed to shop at Lidl and not to order anything else of the catalogues.
The rest of August is going to be tight, it looks like it will be tricky to even pay my regular bills let alone pay off extra of debts, but will soldier on.
One of my main weaknesses is "keeping up with the Jones".
That's not with big stuff like fast cars and purchases, but more invites out and special occasions. I should say NO, but my instinct is always Yes. We just last weekend went to a Christening of a new friends Daughter - Dh had to have a new suit (our wedding one was too small), and kids had no smart clothes, I bought a new dress, and a £50 christening gift. All to keep up the show that we are doing well, but really it was the LAST thing we could afford and should have just worn our regular clothes or not gone at all. Grrrrrrr I make myself so mad.
I feel most sorry for Dh, my crummy handling of our finances has now meant that even though the poor man brings home over £600 per week, we are still struggling.
Oh well.......Rant over with....Speak soon xx0 -
Hi stressedsteph.
I have just spent yesterday evening and this morning reading your diary, WOw I can't believe how much you have managed to pay off already, you have worked really hard to do so and been really motivated, well done!
I can completely relate to the spending on kids and feeling guilty about saying no, its hard saying no and something I have had to really try hard to do, but I always end up feeling like the big bad wolf.
I've subscribed and look forward to reading how you get on with your debt busting.
Take care PWPS.x.0 -
Just doing a quick reply as every time I tried yesterday it kept saying my post was blocked!. very weird.0

Yay it worked.
Ok...I can reply now. Had a very cheap weekend and did'nt spend any money.
Can't really afford to do a food shop this week as the mortgage is due to go out, but I am menu planning as much as possible with what we have got left. Hopefully as I don't have to do kids lunch boxes we might make it ok.
Many thanks to all that replied, thanks to PWPS for reading through my garbled posts and subscribing.
I hope to not let you all down again by disappearing.
Had to go to Drs tonight as Anti-D's I am on have been giving me a few weird side effects - Night-time cough that keeps me awake and a tense jaw that makes me want to grind my teeth. I am now on a lower dose hoping to get a happy medium....Fingers Crossed.
Will post a better post later on, got to dish up dinner xx0 -

Morning all,
Thanks for all your lovely words of help, it feels so lovely to be back in touch with you all again.
I really will start catching up with all your diaries, its just a little more hectic here than normal with the children being home, but sure you all know how that feels.
Had a panic this morning because the mortgage failed to go out of my account, so I rustled up a few pennies out of other accounts and just called them up and paid it.....phew.
Looking at my spreadsheet, if I can somehow manage to stick to my budget then I will be making some headway again in the next couple of months..
I am planning on taking the children Geocashing today, its a free app on my phone and its kind of like a SatNav treasure hunt. The children are busy finding goodies out of their bedrooms that they are willing to swap with whatever we find in the box. Hopefully that will use up a few hours with free entertainment.
Just sent off 5 lambs to the slaughter house today, I was abit sad because they were orphan lambs I bought in the new year and they were so friendly. I loved them but I can't resist the thought of a freezer full of lamb chops
. I think it will cost me about £75 to get them from the abbatoir, but we will do the butchery ourselves to keep costs down. Its kind of spending money to save money, so will have to find that from somewhere this week .
Hope you are all having a good week, of to check out your diaries now.
Lv Steph xx0
