1. I can confirm I feel a LOT mentally better off for having cleared our two large overdrafts, even if it did mean keeping some credit card debt.
2. In 20 years of working I have spent around 12 of that, half of it part-time wages, paying into a pension. DH only has about 2 years of contributions. We too are bricking it!
3. I don't blame you for being a bit resentful about the shotgun. With hindsight it might have been an idea for you to agree to it on the proviso that for every pound he saved, he contributed the equivalent to the debt
4. We don't have wills either - how much do they cost to make?
Keep on thinking positive xx
Hi HouseworkFairy,
I must admit it does look like it will take slightly longer (4 months) to clear the new credit card bill, but I think it is just because I was kidding myself on how quickly I was ACTUALLY going to be able to pay off the overdraft.
Its so hard to tell how you are doing with an OD, one minute all looks great and then the next you are deep in it again.:(
I have always felt abit nervous about pension schemes, I grew up in the era of old Maxwell who lost loads of peoples pensions and have never really trusted them. I always kidded myself that I would save up a decent amount, but as you can see. I am 37 and still in a minus situation
I am kind of at peace with the shotgun now, I have spent too long being annoyed. From now on anything extra that hubby earns is MINE!!. Although he is already dropping hints as to how tired he is . So don't expect extra jobs will get tackled with quite as much hurry as they have been previously
.
Our wills cost £250, for two separate wills. like I explained in one of my previous posts, I have set it up abit differently from a regular will so I might be a little more expensive.

Sorry to hear youve not been so well.
Hope DH is happy with his metal and wood !!! I really hope he does extra jobs to help you out too.
£660 on charges etc ouch . Thats the sort of thing that really does make you sit up and think doesnt it!!
Hope your ok xx
Hi MTG
£660 . I know it made me really shocked. Sure I won't have that kind of charges on a credit card. I know there is a risk of me just spending again, but I have never been so determined to get clear, so will NOT be overspending.
Feeling back to normal today :T, hope you are well too.Morning Steph!
Glad you are feeling better, it's horrible being ill, especially when you have so much work to be getting on with
Good news on getting your will sorted though, aside from the cost of it, it's good to get it done. Me and DH don't have a will, or pensionI might add that to my 'list of things I should get round to at some point' :rotfl:
How are the little lambs doing now? Hopefully not causing you too much trouble
Feeling better thanks Zepsgal. It finally dawned on me that it does'nt matter if you are ill when you are a mum. Because the world keeps turning and you HAVE to keep going.
There just seemed to be a never ending list of unavoidable jobs that needed doing and it was hard to even put one foot in front of another. Totally miserable. Hubby was good on and off, but think he got bored by the time we got to day 3:(.
Lambs are doing well. Am learning lots from them, and now I am feeling well they are lots of fun. They were one job too many when I was ill, very bad timing. Nevermind.
And on a good note, I just learned how to multi-quote :T:T:T:T0 -
Hi Steph
So sorry to hear that you have been very unwell ... not easy being a mam and looking after lambs with no mam of their own.
Glad that you are enjoying the lambs ... they must be so cute. Any chance you could pop a picture on?
Did hubby get his gun?0 -

Yes looking after 9 needy babies was tought when I was ill
Not too good a taking photo's especially with a moving target, but here is a couple above.
Hubby left home with the biggest grin on his face today, he is collecting his gun tonight and its the first time I have seen him excited.......EVER...
I can't help but be a little nervous about having a shotgun in the house. After all this Pistor1us news reports etc it does make you think about the evils of firearms.
Let just hope we never have a big falling out .0 -
