Ouch with the price of the mobile hairdresser!! It's no wonder I went brown instead of my usual blonde!! My mobile hairdresser charges £5 for a cut ( I wash my hair before she gets here and dry it after she leaves), she cuts mine and DH's and he gives her £20  Can't moan though, I love my cut when she does it :)
Can't think of anything smart to put here...
  • As I said earlier, there's nothing wrong with brown hair.

Hehe I know Bob, but I could'nt face having blonde and brown stripey hair, so I would have had to pay just as much to have it dyed brown, and if I remember how it went last time I tried, it had a slight air of green about it :D.

Basically I chickened out as I thought I had found a cheaper alternative - Turns out I was wrong :(.

Maybe I will ring around and see if I can find a cheaper mobile hairdresser. Have thought about the practice sessions at the local college but thats 15 miles away :o.

Oh well, am ok again for 2 months, will figure something out before next time ;)

Hi - real pity about the mobile hairdresser. Seems like you wont be using her again!

I would look into the college prices (if you can get childcare) - as although they take longer they are usually really good. Friends of mine swear by our local college (for facials and stuff as well now I come to think about it if you fancy a Xmas treat!) and its at least 50% of a salon price which even if you factor in fuel and perhaps parking seems worth it.

I am the same..home colour never looks as good (sorry Bedsit Bob but its true!!) and my hair grows so so fast I look like a badger in no time...:(:rotfl:

  • Well that was bad business-ship (if that's even a word:rotfl:) by her, because it doesn't sound like you'll use her again. I have a home hairdresser, who is great and charges about half what he costs at the salon (he doesn't usually poach clients, but we did a little skills swop a few years ago and now I just go straight to him)..

Mine really needs cut :( - I only get it done once / twice a year (it's really long so can give it a tidy myself) but it was due to be done in August (and I never got around to it) and then I fell ill so just haven't been able to get it done.

It's really bad now & way past me trying to tidy it up (starting to look like a rats tail at the end:eek:).

One of my neighbours is actually my hairdresser but she doesn't do home visits unfortunately - I also hate anyone cutting my hair so the thought of someone coming to do it that I've never had do it before ...

Maybe it'll be OK for a while longer!;)

    But wouldn't that be a one-off payment?

You have it done every 2 months, at £60 a time?

    That's £360 a year.

    Why colour at all

Nature gave your hair a colour of its own.

Its usually every 6 weeks :o:eek:.

    I am vain....Simple as that :o:).

Must sort out a cheaper alternative though. I like to look decent.
