What is the safest way of getting money out from Virgin? (i.e. no risk of being charged)?

Why not e-mail them from their website? Then you have written proof.mr1974 wrote:What is the safest way of getting money out from Virgin? (i.e. no risk of being charged)?

I've recently done an SBT without charges, but before my wife applies we've e-mailed them for written confirmation that all BT's done within the introductory period are "fee-free". Hopefully, they will respond and then she will have written proof.

Thanks for your reply.
I always try and avoid oral confirmations, as it is harder later on to demonstrate things. And conventional mail is slow / they may not bother to answer etc.
But email is a good idea. However I wonder what constitutes proof in this situations, as I could still have forged the email myself, it's quite easy to do.

Then again with the technology available today it is not hard to knock up a decent company headed letter either. I would say email is "reasonable" proof.0 -

....Card? The top link - there is also a card with a lower typical rate with no 0% - are there any other flavours?0 -
Hi, just thought I'd update you all on my situation.
Although my Virgin card hasn't arrived yet, I thought I'd ring them to see how my application was coming along. The paperwork is done and my card is apparently on its way.
I was given an original limit of £5000 and requested this to be increased. I was told that they wouldn't increase it as it was a new account. They said that once I had 3 months or so of payment history to ring back and it shouldn't be a problem. I asked for it to be increased to 10k.
Virgin then asked if I wanted to do a BT over the phone. I said I wanted a SBT into my current account. They agreed to 95% of the £5000 which is £4750. I was told there would be no charge.
So .... I don't have 10k to put into my A&L online saver account, only £4750.
What would experienced stoozers do now ? Apply for an Egg card to get another 5k ? I wanted 10k originally, as I thought it would be a good starting point. Am I just being greedy ? Interest is still interest after all.
Should I be taking it slow on my first foray into stoozing?
cheers
Pete
PS. Another thought has just occured to me ... could I apply for an M&S card, BT the Virgin debt over to it, then SBT again into my current account from the Virgin card ?Debt-free as of 01.10.08. I will never have a CC again and I'm "in the black" :beer:0
