I can tell you, you will not get a reply from him at all. You will get a letter full of nonsense from someone appointed by the dwp to reply for him.bluenoseam wrote: »As chief of DWP any problems with his department are his concern - which this falls under.0 -
to do this they would have to guarantee everyone internet access and provide training for everyone who does not know how to use a computer.mixenvixen wrote: »I was speaking to a JCP advisor at a work event last week and she told me that it's to help benefit policing. Soon all people signing on will have to sign up to the website and their JCP advisers will be able to check if they have actually been searching and applying.
what we need is masses of people all saying they dont have access and dont know how to use a computer whenever this is pushed.0 -
the strategy to adopt is simple. dont do searches. just apply for everything it matches you to without exception. if by some miracle you get a response from any of the obviously unsuitable jobs just explain to them whatever the issue may be, too far, not qualified etc and that you have to apply for everything that is matched to you. then suggest not advertising with the jobcentre anymore if they are not happy with their time being wasted. one thing is for sure if employers think they get alot of time wasters applying now they have seen nothing yet.I joked with my advisor yesterday that I bet the system doesn't work as with all government IT systems and low and behold the site throws up errors for over an hour before it decides it will let me register.
Don't get me started on the "radius thing" either. My advisor thinks that the following are within 20 miles of Doncaster;
Grantham
York
Lincoln
So a 200 mile radius to people at the job centre probably involves looking for jobs in Eastern Europe.0 -
Totally agree. Ive been looking for work for a while now. Im not on JSA (as hubby gets IS) so had to register and its worse than before. I liked it the way it was a few years ago when you clicked on type of job, then you gave a few more details (like it was in the job centres) and this is just rubbish. No wonder people can't get jobs as its not so easy to find them anymore.Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday
Best Wins: Ipad, Nintendo 3DS, £400 Shopping Spree at LK Bennett, £100 Boots vouchers

Big thanks to all who post comps :T:beer:0 -
The DWP have paid monster however much to run the IT for this, it started monday and we are already waiting three fixes due to faults.
I can see the benefits but I feel it doesn't help much. I found searching on our own system easy but this has also been turned off. the internet speed in my office is so slow we keep getting timed out so unable to do any job searches.0 -
right at the bottomWhere do you report faults & problems, is there a telephone helpline ?

It's gone from bad to utterly worse.
The old one was bad until they got slated in the news and then at least they allowed you to sort the date column so you could look at the latest adverts first - it took them over 6 years to achieve that!
Now you can't even do that and all the jobs I've looked at don't even have a phone number now. Seriously, what is the point of making it harder for people to use when they claim they're trying to get the economy going again?0 -
In the local library tonight, noted signs warning people not to attempt to access the website on the library computers. Had a word with one of the staff, seems that accessing the site, results in the locking up the computers. But than they do date from 2002 and did not get XP installed until this year. Underpowered and lack of memory0

Went in for my first meeting with JCP today and she pushed this service on to me.
She accepted there were 'teething problems'. But then after my rant about bad experiences with Monster, she told me they were running it in conjunction with JCP. I would probably have defended it a little had she not told me that.0
