Universal Job Match - What A Farce!!

I am not 'signing on' at the moment and work many various temporary positions just to make ends meet.
I have been a regular user of the Jobcentre Plus website for some time, but now it as changed, in my opinion, it's impossible to use!!
Firstly, when I registered it stated that I would be sent a letter detailing my log-on details, but as I never gave my home address details, how can this happen?
Secondly, I have tried to do a search relating to my particular needs, but very poor responses!
BRING BACK THE OLD WEBSITE - PLEASE!!!!!!!

I agree, I can't even log on to it0

I don't like it either. I haven't registered yet and might not bother as my JSA has just finished.
I got results to come up if I just typed my post code & clicked search & then narrowed the distance to 10 miles for example.
Don't type "all jobs" or anything - don't put anything in left-hand or middle boxes. Just post code - worked for me.
Won't be able to apply for vacancies that do no have contact details without registering.0 -
I was speaking to a JCP advisor at a work event last week and she told me that it's to help benefit policing. Soon all people signing on will have to sign up to the website and their JCP advisers will be able to check if they have actually been searching and applying.0

I really do fail to see why people are having such problems with it.
When I went on I found leaving all but the postcode box blank helped bring up more jobs. Yes you may have to trawl through but so what? And you can still minimise the search by selecting distance from postcode.
It's all as it was before from what I can see. Yes there are going to be a few technical difficulties to start off with but that's to be expected with something new.
I think people are making a mountain out of a molehill out of all this.0 -
I figured it might just be me, I sent an email to Iain Duncan Smith, Liam Byrne & my local MP informing them of the "issues" I had found with the site thus far (there were 6 issues which I encountered without even looking for them). Typical conservative scheme, change something that didn't need changing rather than actually fixing the problems surrounding the JCP website as it was - and infact the job centre itself.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

The new radius for the jobsearch has reached 200 miles, I am going to wonder when the first sanction on jsa will be for not searching the 200 miles.0

You will get no reply at all from IDS on any matter as you are not his concern.bluenoseam wrote: »I figured it might just be me, I sent an email to Iain Duncan Smith, Liam Byrne & my local MP informing them of the "issues" I had found with the site thus far (there were 6 issues which I encountered without even looking for them). I joked with my advisor yesterday that I bet the system doesn't work as with all government IT systems and low and behold the site throws up errors for over an hour before it decides it will let me register.
Don't get me started on the "radius thing" either. My advisor thinks that the following are within 20 miles of Doncaster;
Grantham
York
Lincoln
So a 200 mile radius to people at the job centre probably involves looking for jobs in Eastern Europe.0 -
its the same when everything goes online.:footie:0

As chief of DWP any problems with his department are his concern - which this falls under.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0
