  • Maybe think about cooking your own food from scratch - that's probably the only way to avoid this kind of incident. Eat plain or home-made foods then you will know exactly what is in it

It's amazing how many people think they have won the lottery because they find a little bug in their food.

If a judge believes them of course, any gift cards offered in compensation is with no liability attached and so the courts can see that an offer has been made so the claim looks frivolous.

Forgive me if I'm incorrect but most chicken or other meat foodstuffs tend to carry a warning along the lines of 'although all care has been taken bones may still be present'

Before giving food to a very young child, I'd assume most adults would check it? A bit of rubber for example would surely be very obvious?

Had the same sort of thing happen to me recently ... Except my 3 year old son chocked on a piece of rubber about an inch and a half long had to pull it out from back of his throat (he's only 3) ... It was sent off for testing yesterday ... If they offer me a poxy £10 gift card I'll be throwing it back at them it's no compensation!!! And I will take them to court over it ... This isn't the first time I found things in my asda make foods found a chicken claw in a Kiev once!!! There quality control policy is !!!! something needs doing about it!!!

Thanks for joining just to post that.

And no, you are not entitled to anything more than a gift card if one is offered.

Good luck finding a solicitor willing to "take them to court over it" too...
