so are you saying it's OK to have unknown substances in food in supermarkets. and nothing can be done about it.

But it's not an unknown substance.
it had been identified as possible oven build up

It would be different if it was a cockroach or similar thing, and although finding bits in your food isn't ideal, it would be just about impossible to prevent the odd occurrence such as you have experienced.

sorry could not resist the smilies
Looking 4 a few extra egg custards. Its the old saying what would you want, or what would you do. If you get my drift

At what, 60p a pack of two you're already able to get over 16 more packs - that should do you I would have thought :D :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: (just to feel like I fit in a bit to this conversation...) ;)

They have said its oven build up from their investigations, so it is known. And if that is the case, its unlikely to cause instant vomit, that sounds more like a gut reaction to what it could have been (and that would tie in with your initial reaction that it was a cockroach (why do people always have to think the worst?))

What exactly do you want to do about it?

No you don't have to send the £10 gift card back, but your opening post is worded (and smilied) very much like you believe the offer is derogatory.

So what exactly are you expecting?
Lets get the wording right, IT SAYS (POSSIBLE) OVEN BUILD UP .Not it was, or is. So tell me would you be happy with oven build up in your food, or worse in your mouth or stomach.

You have been asked before. What would you like to happen, What do you expect to get it you took it to court ?

I've had worse (damn those cheap package holidays of my youth).

Let me get my wording right here... Im not going to make a Daily Mail moment out of it either if it did happen to me.

Seriously, you got over 16 x the value of the product which caused the issue, you wont answer anyones question on what exactly you want....

    I am just so cynical.
  • Thats a good question, But it's not 4 me 2 say.
but any advice good or bad funny or sad will be taken.
Ps Yes i do think the £10.00 gift card was a joke.
But maybe i would have done the same in there shoes.
  • Good advice ---Accept what you got out of it..
Bad advice--- Take it to court
Sad bit.--- No you wont make millions out of it.

    The funny bit

The corner shop baker was a true artist when it came to making birthday cakes. One customer asked him "can you make a birthday cake for my wife, she's an optician?" He agreed and produced a birthday cake in the perfect detail of a winking eye.

His next customer said " can you make a birthday cake for my husband, he's a dentist." He agreed and produced a cake in the shape of an open mouth, including the teeth and tongue.

At that moment another customer began to leave his shop, when the baker asked "can I help you?" The lady turned and said"no, I don't think so,it's my husband birthday today, but he's a gynaecologist".
