they will not get your new credit card cos the ccv, credit number and your start date will be difference if your bank can do a chargeback
under your rights you must tell the supplier about your conceans
write a letter to them explaining your problems in the first place
if fails you can right a letter to your trading standards or CAB0 -
Wrong again. They can and have charged the new card with the postage. (which I authorised on my old card)
I have told the supplier (credit card) about my concerns. They say they can do nothing until the unauthorised charge has taken place. Then it is a matter of proving your case to their satisfaction.0 -
they dont charge your credit card if you report them as "lost" or "stolen"
what is your credit card company0 -
My bank Lloyds tsb supplies my mastercard.0

You're absolutely right. I will think twice next time. In ordering from the internet for years, probably 15 years or so, this is the first time I have been conned.
I was silly.
It doesn't change the fact that they are nasty dishonest devious con men/women whose antics are banned in other countries.
Blaming the consumer is a habit in this country that prevents any effective consumer protection being put in place.
So thanks for the advice and keep on apologising for these people while blaming the consumer who stupidly looks on the bright side when it comes to honesty.
Like I said , dealing with these issues on a daily basis is likely to make one jaded.

You seem to be going against informed opinion.
What Dalesrider meant was that there are MORE then thousands of people who fall for this.0 -

Please do not give advise that is totally wrong.
Both Visa & Mastercard have systems in place to allow retailer of CPA's to request the new card details.
Lost/stolen marker makes no diffrence to a CPA.
Even Somniac has worked that one out....
And to Somniac. If I come accros as harsh. Sorry, that is not how I intended it to be.
Believe me. If I never see another one of these, it won't be a day too soon.
Banks should soon have some systems in place to stop these. They are being worked on. But its a lot of work to match individual accounts upto individual retailers.
And its a system that has to work or it could mess everything up.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
Free or low cost trials with automati renewal are nothing new.
Look as the credit reference sites for example.
I wish i could give savvyness on a free trial.
I would recommend cancelling your cards or your internet connection so you can't be "conned" again.
I am quite shocked people put their card details into a website without knowing what they are signing up for.0 -
report them to action fraud!0

No. I menat if ONLY it was thousands......
I guess we deal with at least a average 100 a week over the last few years. Times that by the number of banks/card providers...
I guess a much higher figure:beer:
Trading std/CAB etc can do nothing as the vast majority of these are oversea's based co's.
America is the most used country for their call centers.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
