Slimtone Scam..

I have been conned by this scam and wish to block Slimtone from taking any further money on my credit card.
Can anyone tell me how they appear on the statement?
Under what company name?
My bank says they need this to block them.
I have cancelled my card already but bank says they can still charge on new card.

  • If they've already taken money from your card, then can't you check the appropriate statement?

    Er Slimtone Plus......

It is also coupled with another name, which for the life of me I can not remember at the moment....
Ah the joys of dealing with these companies.

Its not a SCAM.... If you read the T/C that clearly state "Unless you cancel" the ywill take X amount every month. :rotfl:

Send them a email or ring them to cancel as well.... And don't come back with the excuse that you can't contact them as I ring them, pretty much on a daily basis..... The tel No is on your statement.

You card provider are right. Stopping the card is nothing but a inconvience to you and will not stop them from taking funds.

I can only take it you spoke with someone in the front line. Ring back and talk to the Disputes department. They will be well used to dealing with these co's and can give you the full run down.

To be honest though, a quick google shows you hundreds of unhappy people who all cancelled, but then had the money taken anyway weeks later, so maybe not a scam, but certainly dodgy and not a company you'd want to have your CC details.

If you look at this website:

    https://dermitone.com/shop-lander.php?placement=www.speedtest.net&ad=15362562177&keyword=TopicsTravel&c=GB

you will see that the whole site is a fake. It is disguised as a channel four news website and any link including those named "entertainment", takes you to the slimtoneplus site.
Also all the comments on there are todays date no matter what day you look.
It clearly states the trial is free and will cost you less than five pounds.
It that is not a scam, I don't know what is.

So complain to channel 4, but which channel 4???? Clearly if you read the URL. It is not UK channel 4 which is www.channel4.com and not the link you gave.

People have been falling for this for years Ever since acai berry tea.....

Go to the bottom of the page. Click on Terms & conditions.
    1. PROMOTIONAL OFFER

The 14-day trial offer for Slim Tone Plus capsules and patches includes enrolment in our auto home delivery program, which is subject to the auto home delivery program terms described below.

The 14-day trial period starts the same day of purchase. We do not guarantee arrival dates or times. However, you should contact customer service immediately if you do not receive your product within 7 days after order is placed so that we can adjust your trial period to ensure you have enough time to try the product.

When the product ships, we will charge the non-refundable shipping and handling fee specified on the checkout page to the card you provided at checkout. You will receive an email notice when you place your initial order, confirming your order, your trial period starts the day you place your first order for the shipping and handling.

We also reserve the right to perform an inquiry on your credit card once you place the order, to guarantee us that funds in the amount of £75.00 will be available when the trial ends.

You must contact customer service within the 14-day trial period to cancel and avoid further charges.

If you do not cancel, we will charge £75.00 on the day your trial period ends to the card you provided at checkout and you will continue with the auto delivery program.

Does not get any clearer.... So how can it be a scam...

Oh and the other co debiting is BODY CLEANSE.
    5. CANCELLATION POLICY

To cancel, call our customer service team on 0844 745 9698. Live customer service agents are available Monday – Friday between 9am and 5pm, excluding holidays and special events. Please have your order number available to cancel. Upon receipt of your cancellation request, you will not be charged for any products that have not already been billed, but you will be asked to return the unused portion of the product if cancelled during the 14 day trial period. Because we send out a 30 day supply of both products, we do require that you send back at least 50% of the Slim Tone Plus capsules and 50% of the patches. If we receive less than the required number, we will charge £0.52p per capsules/patch.

You are obligated to pay return shipping. You will be given a Return Merchandise Authorization #. This RMA is valid for 21 days from your initial order date and must be written on the outside of the package containing the returned product. To avoid further charges, you must return and we must receive the returned product within 21 days of placing your first order, i.e., before the RMA # expires. Please note, if we DO NOT receive the product within 21 days of your initial order date, you will be charged the full amount of product.

Refunds will not be given to packages marked “Return to Sender”, or any product that has been billed and not yet received by customer. Packages returned to sender will not be resent to customer unless customer pays shipping and handling.

As I said I deal with these co's on a daily basis.
Contact the co and cancel. Contact your card provider (disputes department) to advise of what you have done. Any more debits contact card provider. Any debits after cancellation.
Debit card = refund straight back to account. (PSD)
Credit card = a couple of days.

    Simples.:T

The only scam is people NOT reading what they are buying into...
If the product is so good, why charge P&P :rotfl:

Any retailer that require card details for FREE trial = ongoing agreement

Of course i should have read the terms and conditions. I should have known that what seemed like a genuine offer would be a con run by a load of devious, morally bankrupt jerks with no conscience.
Me and a couple of thousand others.
Silly us. All our own fault.
    Don't like your world much.
I'm afraid dealing with these companies on a daily basis has jaded you.

Well look at it from the point of view that I have to pick up the pieces. When you have been dealing with the same stuff for several years and people are still falling for the same stuff..... It becomes very hard to understand, why people still do when it has been plasted everywhere.....
That page you linked too. The only reason they can say as featured on..... Is that the programs were warning people about them :rotfl:

No its a simple case of 1 more click to read T/C.....

But onwards and upwards. At east you bank/card provider can help you recover the funds.

Dalesrider offered advice and their opinion. You don't like their opinion, fair enough. I live in the same world as Dalesrider, dealing daily with people who make a mistake then expect someone else to pay for it. It gets a bit tiring after a while.

Maybe next time you're looking at signing up for something on the internet you'll make sure you know what you're agreeing to before you give your card details ?

If someone walked up to you in the street and said " Hey, i can get you something for free but i need your card details first" what would you say ? Think about it.

You're absolutely right. I will think twice next time. In ordering from the internet for years, probably 15 years or so, this is the first time I have been conned.

    I was silly.
It doesn't change the fact that they are nasty dishonest devious con men/women whose antics are banned in other countries.

Blaming the consumer is a habit in this country that prevents any effective consumer protection being put in place.

So thanks for the advice and keep on apologising for these people while blaming the consumer who stupidly looks on the bright side when it comes to honesty.

Like I said , dealing with these issues on a daily basis is likely to make one jaded.

BTW, as for there not being thousands, have a look here:
