also .... as the 2 properties youve managed to find ... one not even in my local area ...
they are both 2 bedroom ... the same as i 'inder occupy now'.
you point out that they are within my price rande. so surely theyre also within the price range of the family that i am denying a homits also above a shop ... which again means stairs.
the HA was very specific about my need for ground floor accomodation0 -

i dont even know where meden vale is,
and we have already dicussed the need for security that dianled people have over and above non disabled people.
youre trying to prove a point,,, but it isnt a points scoring game ... its peoples lives
The only point that I'm making is that there are alternatives. I've identified a number of 1 bed social housing units not too far away, and a couple of larger (2 bed) privately rented units on your doorstep. But you're clearly not interested in any practical solution so you will just have to pay the top up. No good complaining if you won't help yourself.0 -
just did a search and meden vale is 4.3 niles away. no wonder i never knew where it was.
that might be local in a city, but in a rural area thats a fair walk to the shop!0 -
But I thought that there weren't any 1 bedroom properties?
The reality is that there are plenty. There is more 1 bed social housing stock than any other property type/size, and the churn/turnover is faster too, so they become available more frequently. But that's not a picture that suits Nannys argument, so she will bleat on about availability and hope that no-one challenges her.0 -

It's directly ABOVE the shops... Couldn't be closer. Or do you still visit the same shops you did before you moved to your current address? If memory serves, they were quite a bit more than 4.3 miles away. No wonder you have no money to pay a top up.0 -

In all honesty nannytone, you clearly have a property you like, are happy in, in close to where you want to shop and suits your needs.
Is £14 a lot to pay with you children to help you?
Do I think this is unfair to you, yes, but it is what it is. You just replied on a tread where someone is going from £42K to nothing and little help and said "sounds like that is it".
Sometimes, whether you agree/disgree/like or dislike it's the way it is.
From what you post that little amount to your children means a lot to you.0 -
there arent ... and that was my point,
youve managed to find 2.
one is totally unsuitable and the other isnt in my area.
both are of a much lower standard and offer no security at all.
if i was your nother, would you be so happy to see her in the position that i and m,any many others are in through no fault, but merely because we are unlucky enough to be disabled?
all the time my children were frowing uo, i worked and supported them as a single mother.
i paid rent and council tax and did my best.
they both have decent jobs and are buying their own homes.
yet i have to make way for someone elses child that hasnt done the same.
do i think badly because these people cant afford to buy?
of course i dont.
so why then should i be thought of badly and be expected to live in any little hovel merely because i cant see0 -

This has nothing to do with your disability. You're the only one who keeps banging on about it.
If you don't want to move, fine. But that's you not wanting to, not your disability stopping you. You've only moved there recently, and from quite a distance away, so you've shown it's not impossible. But, if you want to stay put, there's a price to pay. It really IS that simple.0 -

I'd come round to thinking that I'd been a bit unfair in expecting you to move 20 miles away, particularly after your explanation about being in a different county.
However, when you start talking about a property only 4 miles away not being in your area then I'm afraid that I go back to thinking that you're just throwing up difficulties for the sake of it and not trying to find a reasonable compromise at all.0
