So where does the allocations policy referred to support your opinion?

Which opinion? Make it clear what it is that you are asking for.
Oh. Before you waste too much time reading through the finer points, I should probably tell you that I helped write the thing and am, as a result, quite familiar with its content and intention.

Which allocations policy did you help write?

You said that the allocations policy is king. It dictates how allocations are made and to whom. I'm asking you to show me where, in this allocations policy, it says that single people are only entitled to one bedroom accommodation. I'll even accept it as a general rule.

The Tees Valley Common Allocations Policy, among others.

There was a misunderstanding over my very lazy use of abbreviations and acronyms. CB, CT, CTB .... See what I mean?

I understood perfectly what you meant but it doesn't alter the point I made.:)

I never stated that single people were only entitled to one-bedroom properties, there are a few exemptions. Pensioners, some disabled who qualify for overnight care etc.

Without any qualifying exemptions, a single person is only entitled to a one-bedroom property.

I think the adult children were highlighted to indicate that CB was no longer relevant. However, CB was confused with CT/CTB. There is no indication that the adult children live at home and may impact on CTB, just that their age will impact on CB. Of course, I may be wrong!

No. As the policy states, a "suitably sized flat". No definition of suitability is given in the policy and, as you have indicated, the policy is God. So we have adverts for 2 bed flats stating "Suitable for singles or couples over 18".

In Middlesbrough, the main Social Housing provider doesn't house children under 14 in flats, regardless of the number of bedrooms. They believe that children should have access to a garden. So who are all the 2 bed flats going to be allocated to?

I read it that there are two adult children at home, one working and one at university, which was why I couldn't understand the bother about paying a small amount of extra rent with four adults contributing. (Mind you, we could both be wrong.)
