Morlock...Maybe I'd agree with you if I could bring myself to read your posts. but i don't...I skip to the next one because the relentless churning out of statistics as your only weapon in debate is seriously off-putting.
You kill opinion and opinion in discussion does not demand the provision of supporting statistics. You attempt to win the argument by challenging anyone who disagrees with you to provide their evidence. Personally I don't go around with a pocketful of stats. Is that always how you have a discussion? How to win friends!
 Morlock World.
4 Chelsea fans in the pub....Fan1 what do reckon on Benitez lads....Fan2 crap...Fan3 produces boring teams...Fan4 might get the best out of Torres...Fan1 hang on,hang on where's your stats for these statements. Fans 2,3 and 4 down glasses and walk out, go to match and leave fan 1 on his own with his Barclays Bumper Book of of Premier League Statistics. Misses match but doesn't care because he won the argument.0

Statistics are based on something, sound facts & proper research, opinions on subjects & situations people do not have 1st hand experience of, generally are not.Morlock...Maybe I'd agree with you if I could bring myself to read your posts. but i don't...I skip to the next one because the relentless churning out of statistics as your only weapon in debate is seriously off-putting.

I have not challenged any opinion, although mine obviously differs from some. What I do challenge are statements of 'fact' where I believe that 'fact' to be of a dubious nature.
Stating that the majority of demand for two-bedroom, social housing properties is from first-time mothers is not an opinion, it is a statement of fact, of which you have yet to show any shred of convincing evidence.0

The majority of people affected by the bedroom tax are disabled, single females with only one spare bedroom, living in areas where under-occupancy is not a significant problem.
 Is that self defined disability?
In any area with a waiting list, under-occupation is a significant problem. I'm not aware of any area without a waiting lost.0

I stated that the highest demand was for 2 beds and indicated that the demand was DRIVEN by first time mums. That's a very different statement from your interpretation of it above.0

I am not saying that at all, but like all changes in benefits, tax, VAT rises etc they look overall and the majority rather than the minority and individual circumstances are rarely considered. There is discrentionary help at LA level to assist with individual cases if the newspapers are to be believed.
Children with their own bedrooms of equal gender can share, empty nest syndrome families, single people in inherited homes that used to be the family home etc etc.
In order to give a balanced view it needs recognised that some people do have a choice.0

It is not up to me to prove that your statements are accurate, that is up to you. Stating 'The facts are out there, find them yourself', does not prove anything. If anything, it indicates that you cannot back up your own claim.
So, you had a look and it turns out I'm right, huh?
Tell you what, you pick a town and I'll do the stats.0

tp those of us that have a disability... this is hysr aabither hardship to endure.
to those that have commented without knowing how hard daily lufe can be ...
i hope you bever have cause to see our point of view![/B]
And what about those with a disability who are WAITING for Social Housing? Someone should have a thought for THEIR suffering, shouldn't they?0
