The catholic population of N.I is now a majority.

Israel is going to have to make a decision soon or they may not get the chance .Maybe Palestinians know they have time on there side.

A minority group always has to change the way it conducts negotiations.

There's no maybe about it. It's interesting to read "Israel: the next 60 years" by Gabriel Rotello in the Huffington Post.

It's not the rockets from Gaza that's making the Israeli government act so recklessly and desperately, it's the ticking of the demographic timebomb they're sitting on.

One of the main reasons there are so many more palestinian deaths than Israeli, is because the Israeli Govt protects their citizens, it doesn't use them as human shields. The Iron Dome is proof of this.

Seriously though I wonder what Hamas expect to achieve, despite all the rhetoric the higher command must realise they will never destroy Israel, somehow I don't think the USA would let that happen and the Israelis are pretty good and defending themselves.

So whats the point of all this?

I'm sure many of the ordinary Palestinians just want to get on with life and are smart enough to realise all the 'we are gonna destroy Israel' talk is nonsense.

The political landscape has changed since the Arab spring. They aren't as isolated as they were, especially with the Muslim Brotherhood being dominant in Egyptian politics. Israel may almost surround Gaza, but Israel is surrounded by pro-Arab, Pro Muslim countries. China is also becoming a major economic power broker, gone are the days when the US could boss everyone around.
