Started shopping and planning meals according to what I can feed my dalek with?
I know jacket potatoes are better for you, but then the dalek doesn't get the peelings..
Lots of fruit because the peel, stalks etc can go in
And how exciting is it when you fork it over, and it looks like real compost at the bottom :T :T :T :T
Olibearhorse - the dalek is becoming a focus in my life. Rosieben - I hope to be moving soon - how am I going to get my compost in the removal truck? :rotfl:0 -

Your dalek has obviously become the famly pet! I remember years ago only buying veg (for us) that the tortoise liked!
I dont know about moving your compost, the mind boggles! I thought long and hard about my dalek and I've decided to wait until after I move before I compost. so I have to be patient for a while longer
I'll still be watching the thread for any more nuggets of compost wisdom though.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Always found it very hard to leave the compost behind when moving....
OH had to be very stern with me or I would have shovelled it into the removal's truck, I suppose if you had some very sturdy sacks/bags you could fill them up? But then, TBH, there always is more than enough packing to do.

Hi all, sorry been neglecting this thread a bit lately, just trying to keep out of the rain!?!
Cazziebo - I attend to my dalek nearly everyday, but then I do eat lots :rotfl:
Rosieben - you have to take it with you! seriously, I would bag up what I could, take the dalek and set it up again in my new home. You can't abandon it now!0 -
I received my free dalek from the council a few months ago and I've been merrily chucking stuff in. Don't know if I'm doing it right but it seems to be rotting down quite well.
Regarding the male pee: I'm emptying my son's potty onto it.Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0 -
Just butting in here: we got some guinea pigs and I've started putting their hay+poo+weesoaked newspaper in and I thought this'd be fine , but I'm amazed how much they produce. Anyone else got small animal poo??Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0

Only one dalek, but also 3 old type dustbins (2 recycled when the wheeliebins came in, 1 pupose bought before council offered daleks at reasonable price).
Been trying to grow a screen of climbing nastursium to hide this battered collection. As they are sitting on concrete behind the greenhouse, the climbers have to manage with a large windowbox for soil and mostly in shade.
After an attack of blackfly they've been failing miserably to hide anything! Any suggestions?0
