Chilli - Spicy Mushroom and Bean Chilli

Thanks for that keyser, I've deleted the link. :T

Google brings up loads of recipes for Spicy Mushroom and Bean Chilli, or if anyone has a link to a recommended recipe I'll reinstate it.
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

    Good morning
My new month starts today (payday) so I am aiming for 700euros (more than last month's 672 but there is the little business of christmas to get through).

Have to shop today so will see how that goes

  • It is not embarrassing to wrap up the cake I could not eat and bring it home in my handbag from the posh coffee place. It isn't, it really isn't. So why was I so :o:o:o ?

Answer - I'm probably still a snob in my heart. I still did it though! :j

    SL

I have brought spare tupperware to restaurants in my handbag to take home leftover (or extra) pieces of cake. :rotfl:
  • Can i please join for December?

I'll go for the same as last month so can you put me down for £300 please.

I'll still be on my November challenge until December 15th though.

    Cheers :)

    Hi all,

I have vowed to stay off the diet Pep$i as I've been buying at least a bottle a day - usually two so I reckon about 50 quid a month (it's a pound from the vending machine at work)

Sorry for the ramble but I'm a bit excited about this challenge! :o

  • Hello everyone

Is it too late for a newbie to join ?

Due to some sudden, drastic (read immediate!) & unexpected declines in our monthly income (WTC decrease, loss of hours at work) and now redundancy looming in January - I need to drastically cut our grocery budget :(

I know from reading the intro posts, that it's not recommended to do a drastic drop - but we have no choice. Our budget has never been very big (one part-time income + WTC + basic care DLA), but we need to cut it to the bone.

So, after all that pathetic waffle :o Please can you add me for £150(£35pw) for December

    Angel x
all the best and good luck

  • Hi - I'm in again please with another weekly allowance of £46.

Last week I spent it all - but included in that was £15 on a Christmas present which will now not have to come out of savings so I'm pleased. Writing down all my spend helps as I've not had to throw anything away.

Hope I'll be able to do the same this week. I'm not going to buy any (more) extras for Christmas yet as I don't know if I'll be at home.

I bought a pack of mince pies a couple of weeks ago and managed to scoff the lot.

How do other people manage to keep their Christmas goody stash intact?

  • Oh dear I’ve gone a bit mad in Lid! – On day 1 of my £80 December budget I’ve already went and spent £48.69 – but in my defence I do have enough washing powder to last a year, kitchen towels will last about 6 months, coffee should last about 3 months, enough meat and of course the Christmas Turkey Crown nestling in the freezer all of which should last for about 3 months, the store-cupboard is bulging.

I don’t use much milk on a daily basis, mostly for cooking and making yoghurt, but decided to buy a 4 pint bottle and will decant some to freeze as well as make up a batch of b!chamel sauce to freeze in usable portions that I can add cheese or parsley to when required.

The remaining £31.31 will need be used wisely for fresh stuff although I am aware that I should really stock up on flour and butter/marg for baking goodies over the holiday period as I refuse to buy anything that wouldn’t normally be on my list.
