Well, I have my refund which I appreciate. If it helps anyone else, I explained that I had inadvertently added one too many tracks. I also stated that I cancelled the download before it started, I had been charged for a service that I hadn't used, I still needed to listen to the music before I made a commitment, and that I hoped they would "restore my faith in their service by refunding my money at the earliest opportunity". As it's Sunday, I think it's fair to say that they did just that. Thanks in advance,

A few weeks ago I signed up for the 25 free downloads trial and downloaded 24 songs, closed my account and when I checked my bank account they had charged me £8.99. I emailed and asked why this is as I only downloaded 24 songs and I demanded a refund, they emailed back saying that they'll generously give me a refund and close my account (which I had already done). Just watch your bank account if you're gonna try the free trial and DEMAND a refund if they try taking your money.0

Recently bought a new mp3 player, and it came with a link to get 100 free downloads instead of 25 which seems to work.

Hah - guess who forgot to cancel and has been charged a month's subscription - darn
Also, eMusic took off the balance of unused downloads from the trial (about 50 I think but hadn't kept a record) and so I only had the month's paid-for allowance of 30 available. I have cancelled now and used the 30 (Jimi Hendrix, Show of Hands and Woody Guthry albums) track allowance but have also emailed eMusic to question what happened.
Just a thought, I now have all these extra tracks on my PC but no proof that I legally downloaded and paid for them. I can produce CDs for all the other tracks on my PC. How does that work then

PS Is the MSE site running real slow recently or is it my internet link????0 -
All links for 100 free downloads seem to have expired - are there any around?

Like a few other posters here, I signed up and really struggled to find any music I wanted.
I managed to get my lot of free tracks and then cancelled; I don't think it would be any good to subscribe to the service on an ongoing basis though.0
