As far as I understand it, breast reduction surgery is a serious medical procedure, and you really need to look at it carefully, I think - it's nowhere near as simple as breast enlargement, which is an assumption many people make. When you think about it, you are cutting away living tissue. I'd encourage you to look at all options, and I'm sure you will!!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

Noel- all i can respond is that prior to the op i was in 40dd bra and now i am in 38b bra and they fit well ( maybe the sizing difference is the make, style etc)credit card bill. £0.00

Well I'm 4ft 11, with 36HH breasts so know where you're coming from.
You can get breast reduction on the NHS if it causes backache and discomfort. I went for a consultation as a teenager but was told no, as they weren't big enough (I was a G then), and he told me to lose some weight as was about a stone over my BMI. (9.5 stone then)
I'm now kind of use to them, having surgery would have made me have 3 months out of college or delay uni as I would have been out of action for 3 months at least, not forgetting all the scars.
They are a pain and if I don't reduce them due to losing weight in the future I may reconsider it, depending on any problems they cause me. But just to let you know you could try getting it done on the NHS if they cause you problems.0 -

best thing i ever did. ( my boobs we saggy and heavy)

hi, I want to have a boob uplift/reduction.....how much did yours cost and just how painful was it, how long was the recovery? I am a 34j -K I hate them with a passion....i have small boob envy - I would like to be a B cup I think.
Thanks for sharing0 -
A friend of mine had it done twice, so can't be too bad. She had the first op on NHS and then paid privately to have it done again.Sell £1500

For all those interested i had my boob up lifted /reduction in turkey.
it was a big deal and i thought about it for many years before i actually went ahead with it. ( i only had it done on the 3rd sept)
As a previous poster stated " they would of needed to have 3 months off college"
well thats not true, i was back to work within 4 weeks and driving my car within 2 weeks.
yes it was uncomfortable to say the least and i only slept on my side for the first time in 4 weeks.
Prior to that you need to sleep on your back
However you cope and look at the bigger picture
it is a big procedure. ( breast up lift reduction) as they need to completley reshape your breasts. (And cut your nipples off and reposition them again.) ewww.
And i ended up developing an infection however that was my own fault and when i was well back in the UK.
However now when i take my clothes off i know its absolutly worth it.
op if your going to go down this road do your research.
if you need any more info let me know.
for the other poster who wanted to know how much it cost, well i had a few prodecures done at the same time.
so its hard to say how much a single breast reduction would have cost.credit card bill. £0.00
overdraft £0.00

Is that because they grew back? I knew someone years ago who got it done & after a few years they were back to the same size as before her op. I don't know how common this is but worth researching.A friend of mine had it done twice, so can't be too bad. She had the first op on NHS and then paid privately to have it done again.Booo!!!0 -

Yes, I'd like to know the answer to this one too.
Regarding cost, I wonder if Spire take credit cards, because that would be easier than cashing-in my investments. Not much different from the car loan that DH has got!Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.
Before I found wisdom, I became old.0 -
Wish I had the courage to go for a bust reduction.
My boobs are truly the bane of my life since I needed my first bra at the age of 8.
Even now I still get comments from men that I can do without at my time of life!!0 -
Marg- I only spent two nights in a hospital and i had the lot done. ( tummy tuck, bit of lipo, and the boobs)
As for having the Nips cut off, no you wont know any thing about it at the time, ( as your under anasetic but you need to look after them after the op.)
And there is a certain amount of scaring but mine has already faded a lot.credit card bill. £0.00
