THat's disappointing for you but hopefully you'll be fit and well by then.

I only just saw this thread and it's interesting because 12 years ago in April I had my boobs enlarged. I don't regret it one bit and I'm sure you won;t regret your surgery either.

HAving boobs that suit your body and are comfortable is a fantastic feeling.

My friend tried to get a reduction on the NHs and they refused and she can't afford it privately so she is living with daily back pain.

I did just want to correct a couple of misconceptions mentioned earlier in the thread though about breastfeeding - it doesn't make your boobs sag, it is pregnancy hormones that do that. Plus, inverted nipples don;t have to mean you can't breastfeed. Most women with them can, although some can't, but it's not a given that you can't. :)

But enough of that - looking forward to hearing from you after your op!

BR surgery re-scheduled for Friday 22nd February. No further cost, I've paid for everything already and it's not my fault that I'm not well enough. Just get over this nasty cold now!

Excellent news, hardly any time at all and it might be a bit warmer which will aid your recovery.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Oh dear, that's not good is it? She has had major abdominal surgery and i would imagine with the drains she is at a huge risk of infection. I don't understand why anyone would take such risks when it takes so much to get that far. I hope she is ok. I had drains when I had my BR but they removed them the following day and I wouldn't have been able to leave hospital with them still in.

Hope you don't mind me asking but did she have her OP on the NHS? I wonder if it was a bed shortage issue :(. I sometimes think they must cause more trouble and cost by releasing people earlier than they should instead of keeping them in an extra night or two.

SD was private, I remember - however I expect you still go home asap as yu would on NHS becuase people don't mind paying the surgeon and anaesethist but don't like paying for nights in hospital so they do a package price for you that inclludes the min no of nights the surgeon thinks you can get away with
But she is a very silly girl and will probably realise tomorrow she has overdone it
Amazing how much weight she must have lost and kept off though

I don't know exactly how much weight she lost but it amounted to 'another whole person' - another 9 or 10 stone.

    Sadly not another me :D

Yes I echo 'good luck' not long to wait particularly once the tests are over!
Dont rush to post afterwards as you won't feel like it but we will all be longing to hear how it all went.
Am planning to use same surgeon if you are pleased, but not doing anything till I retire mid April.

Oddly enough, I found someone on the UK board of BreastHealthOnline who had BR done by the same surgeon in the same hospital at the beginning of this month. She can't praise him too highly, and she went to him specifically because he'd done breast reconstruction for her mum, who was delighted.

We're meeting up at the pub near where she lives, not far from me, tomorrow - the pub has started doing afternoon tea.

Thats great, she will have lots of tips and the inside track. Nothing better, I bet you have a great chat.
  • Glad to hear everything went well for you.
Wishing you a speedy recovery x
