All done and dusted, just the healing and recovery process now. I was asked to come in at 7.30 am but in fact I didn't go to theatre until about 1.30 pm! You can guess, I was really hungry by then but it didn't seem too bad. I'm now 850g x 2 less than I was yesterday this time.

Had drains out this morning and going to have a shower this afternoon. I'm not wearing the compression stockings any more - they were just too tight and uncomfortable. Seen my surgeon this morning - everything is OK as far as he's concerned. Home tomorrow.

Although DH was cagey about this for a long time, he couldn't have been more supportive, bless him. I certainly couldn't have done it without him.

How very wonderful, bless you. The thought of you having your drains out makes me squeak - it was the worst bit for me up to going home :o. That's very unusual to have the same amount taken from each breast - you must be a very aligned lady :D.

Reading what you said about the lady from BHO I had my surgery with the same surgeon as someone on there, we both posted pics on the pictures board and our new boobies were almost exactly the same, size and everything!

    Keep comfortable and rest up

I am fine. Today is the 8th post-op day and I have been obeying instructions to 'rest, rest, rest'! Nothing else to say really. I see my nurse again on Wednesday and my surgeon again early April. It's just healing, and it takes time and good nutrition.

Thanks for the kind thoughts and good wishes.

I know from my friend who had this done twice that it is a big undertaking. It is lovely to be back home, eating your own food and showering when you want, I always love getting home from hospital.

Do you know what size you are going to be, you might be joining my club, 36A, and you will find it isn't always easy to get the right cup size, apparently when we get to 36 we are all at least a B cup, really frustrating! At least us smaller ladies can get away with no bra, not just yet for you but you will get there.

just so amazed, Margaret Clare at how well you have done and great that you are now over a week post op- you have been so informative about all thats gone on and its certainly been a big help to me and now its just a case of money and picking the best time to get it done and easy cos I will have the same surgeon - I shall certainly mention how I came upon him!
Please do post again in a week or two it would be nice to know how you are doing post operatively and what the recovery time is ie how much you can do after a few weeks of being very careful
And do let us know how the tummy tuck girl is doing too!
Wish you all the best, brave lady- I will be perfectly honest and say that for me its mainly cosmetic although I am 34DD which is weird given that I used to be 34A and I only weigh 8 and a half stone! I think it must have been the ten years I spent on HRT - the best thing since sliced bread everyone thought and I was keen because my mother had osteoporosis

Thanks for update - time surgeon gave us girls a discount for keeping him in work!
You say you are really tiny now but presume all relative did surgeon say what size you would be?
When will you be able to buy a 'normal' bra? Please do go to John Lewisif you can face gettting to London or Stratford they cannot be bettered even by rigby and peller. They were the most brill imaginable when my friend had a fitting after cancer treatment
and after nearly 50 years of buying bras I still go there (or R and P) and nowhere else.

Not shopping in London, just going to a John Lewis, with an appointment for bra fitting!! However it sounds as though you wont have any problem with choice and fitting anywhere as the surgeon has done such a good job. Thanks for the very detailed update and it will be interesting to here what Claire has to say - I bet you can hardly wait for Wednesday. Good luck- by the way, how long do you have to wear the bra at night?

Approx 3 weeks day and night. Kelly is now wearing the stretchy kind that you can buy in Asda! She says you step into it and pull it up from your feet. She went back to work after 2 weeks, fortunately she works in the council offices so not physically strenuous, and they let her do shorter days. Even so, she's getting very tired. I'm glad I don't have to go back to work!!

What I'd really like is one of the little soft kind that does up at the front, http://www.amplebosom.com/glamorise-wonderwire-lace-front-close-bra-p473-s7.php

That looks nice but no A cup in a 36, the story of my life, I don't know why they assume A cups end at 34.

MargaretClare, how did you get on with the nurse on Wed?
Was she pleased with your progress?
Do hope the itching has subsided.
All good wishes for your continued recovery.
