Had a call from Simply Be asking for feedback on why I was closing my account.

'Your goods are rubbish and your APR is horrendous.'

'Ah. Is there anything we can do to persuade you to keep your account open?'

    'No.'

Simply Be account closed. I'll keep an eye on Noddle monthly to make sure it shows their end.

Today wasn't a total loss because I've revamped the projected savings and investment tab, so I'm happy with that. Got 3 hours sleep earlier but I suspect that's me done for the night. Will slope off and read in a bit. Stepdaughter is flitting about (Cat no 9 has just woken her up as he's confined to her room) and DH has camped on the sofa for the night, so technically I could have a mythical lie-in tomorrow (except next door are having their roof done).

I'm such a moaner at the moment ;) If the spring clean doesn't get done, it doesn't get done. If I at least sort all paperwork and laundry, I'll be in a better position than before Christmas.

I'm fed-up with dutiful stuff. As penance, am going to rope stepdaughter into dyeing my hair tomorrow; I'll get her to trim the ends as well. I'm quite a light blonde but fancy a change, so going for caramel/light brown with blonde highlights. They've stopped doing the L'Oreal Couleur Experte Biscotti that I used to use a few years back, so I'm having to improvise with 2 separate kits. Bring on the plastic cap and crochet hook!

If I'm organised enough, I'm going to start wearing a touch of make-up at work. Time to up my game and dig out the worksuits etc and go into professional grown-up mode. Will go through my elderly make-up collection tomorrow and see if anything can be salvaged. My fave work shoes are knackered (didn't realise the inner soles are worn down to plastic struts) but I have £50 M&S vouchers to use up. Also going to get some silver cleaner for my fave necklace (solid cast of an ammonite).

I'm okay thanks - if SD hasn't stirred in 30 minutes, I'm going to do the hoovering.

Couriers for musicmagpie coming tomorrow and Saturday - should get approx £105 in cheques when they process my stuff. I've barely made a dent in the DVDs and CDs - how much money have I wasted over the years?

Filed all paperwork including years of pension statements, spread across 4 pots from various employers. My pots total is not looking wonderful for my age, but I do have 20 years to go till I retire, so time to get serious about it. When I'm able to, I need to whack in lots and lots, especially as my employer puts in 7% and will match me up to a further 3% (I hope to do much more than that). I'll consider whether to transfer everything to my current employer once I've had a look at every single asset/fund I'm invested in in the 4 pension plans and their performance history/risk profile. I'll round up DH's paperwork as well. That's tomorrow's research job as I'll be stuck in the house all day waiting for the courier :) Yippee - more tabs for my spreadsheet! The poor thing's going to explode if I keep on adding to it.

Courier didn't turn up today (was supposed to be here 8am - 8pm); got a second courier supposed to be collecting a second box tomorrow, so no idea what's going on. Lots of educating myself about pensions so that was good. NSD. The hair dyeing's not going to happen now, so money saved there. I'll just have to carry on being a frump :)

Second courier also didn't turn up. Will call musicmagpie on Monday and get them to arrange Parcelforce for next Saturday, as they suggested on the phone if the second one failed as well; Hermes are rubbish. Tomorrow's my last day before returning to work, so it's going to be a laundry and shopping day.
