  • Personally I prefer Morrisons Savers baked beans, much better than the branded names and much tastier. A bargain at 24p a tin!

I've noticed that Heinz Tomato soup is pretty watery these days...

    Yes and way too sweet.

The Heinz 5 beans are nice.

  • I miss 'old' Heinz baked beans, since they turned into what they are now, we usually just buy basic brand these days as not much difference between them all.
The 'old beans' in the thick sauce with the big properly precooked beans were so good I used to eat them on there own as a snack as a kid (but not anymore).... and they have a weird after taste/slight film now, a bit 'ash' like to my taste buds.

Penny pinching aside I'd buy Heinz Beans again if they returned to their former glory, even if only as a treat in those little cans you can still get.
Like old fashioned Mars Bars....I love one of those again! :D

DP used to refuse to eat anything other than Heinz beans.

Now we buy asda's own brand and they are a lot nicer x

Got to say I can't stand Branston beans, I will happily eat own brands but OH won't. I have found provided they're heated on the hob rather than microwave the sauce gets nice and thick again. Alternatively just serve them with a slotted spoon to drain some of the "juice" off.

  • I had some Heinz beans today for the first time in ages. They were dead gloomy, I don't understand why people have found the sauce too thin.

    I buy Tesco's own low salt/sugar version.
  • Maybe the real test is.... do Heinz baked beans still produce as much wind power? ;)
