What has happened to Heinz Baked Beans?

I fancied Beans on Toast last night but was very disappointed with the beans. What's happened to Heinz Baked Beans? The beans themselves seemed smaller and paler than normal, not the fat glossy haricot beans you expect from Heinz. The sauce seemed thinner than Heinz used to be and the taste, well, there really wasn't a taste at all.
I checked the tin - I hadn't picked up low salt, low fat beans by mistake.
I haven't had them for a while, and shan't be having them again.
Has anyone else experienced a change? What other bean brands do you recommend?

I always just buy Asda smart price beans and stir in a spoon or two of BBQ sauce. Very tasty!0

Thanks for the tip MamaMoo. I might buy a few tins of different value brand beans and try the sauce tip. The Heinz ones were foul.0

Branston beans are way better in my opinion. I stopped buying Heinz a while back and you can usually get a 4 pack of Branston for anything from £1/1.50.0

I buy Tesco own brand (not value). They are very good IMO.0

Exactly what I was going to say. Regularly on offer and they have a good flavour. I always add a touch of chilli to mine, whether fresh or flakes. Sometimes a bit of cooked diced bacon too0 -
Another vote for Branstons Beans........yummy.I hate migraines.0

Yep Branson beans are much tastier0

I noticed recently that Heinz beans have loads of 'juice' in the can and not enough beans. Sweet and bland too, bit of a con really.
Branston are good value and certainly flavourful but I find they taste a wee bit of 'Brown Sauce' and I can't stand Brown Sauce.
Asda's own are fine. I keep an eye out for the 4 pack offers for beans in there and usually stock up then. They do 4 big tins for a quid sometimes. Think the Smartprice ones are actually ok too.*Look for advice, not 'advise'*
*Could/should/would HAVE please!*
