Tell me about it. I live in a constituency that is 50 minutes away by rail to St Pancras, and you could get to the house of commons within 90 minutes at a push. However, while those on JSA would have to apply for and take jobs which are within that travel time, my MP feels that he requires a flat in London at the tax payers expense. He also needs to claim the full £100 a week food allowance, even though his wife is his secretary and he pays her £40 grand a year!!

    Now that's what I call troughing:D
Most MP's do not live where they are MP for! Ours dont live here at all she has a posh house in North London somewhere.

the payment will have been for the period up to the 13th feb i suspect.

    Thats what I meant

date on letter 26 Feb 2013
date they said they can not pay me 30 Jan - 12 Feb,

16 Feb they paid in JSA for that period.
as I said I dont think they know what they are doing.

Signed on 26th Feb checked bank no payments as of today.
phoned, no answer after getting through the call centre to the jobcentre.
I did however receive 2 books both with R 44 on them. which have been sent back, they seem to like closing my claim.

if they do this to other people, I'm surprised I dont hear about more people being banned from the jobcentres cause its infuriating.
note: I've filled in those books just in this year 4 of them.
if i include the last 3 months of 2012 double it.
Why do they have to CLOSE YOUR CLAIM when they sanction you. another bright idea someone thought of to **** people off.
especially if you dont know you bank account details and they say we cant accept it without due to the fact you may have changed banks.

i didnt think they closed a claim due to a sanction. i thought if they do that it is for specific reasons. what they are i dont know. i think its when people dont turn up for signing on or something like that that a claim gets closed.

Just received a letter from the council to tell me my weekly rent.
whats that got to do with the jobcentre well heres what.
Seems some idiot at the jobcentre has told them that I'm no longer claiming or signing.
Due to my phone call to them yesterday I found out i was sanctioned which is why i received those 2 reactivate your jobseekers forms. JR44
so now my rent according to the council which was £22.80 a fortnight is now £73.80 a week with £0 income, but as of the phone call to the council there was a number on there, asking what my rent actually is.
"Well due to you no longer claiming JSA," i replied "pardon, i'm signing next tuesday as i do every 2 weeks, I've been sanctioned for 2 weeks as i found out yesterday."
"Thats not what we have been told by the jobcentre, they've told us your claim has ceased"
me,"if it has ceased they why am i going there on tuesday to sign? I've said it many atimes I dont think the jobcentre now what the hell they are doing. it seems every 2 weeks someone down there decides i'm not doing enough and they stop my benefits for 2 weeks, I appeal, and get them reinstated, and i get the same form to fill out, RJ44 each time to reactivate my JSA. which is really peeving me off"
her ,"well if you can prove your income is £0 then your rent weeky will be £11.20."

Then the jobcentre wonders why i get freaking mad when i go there.
much more of this **** and I am going to go ape**** and really let my temper go, and if they think they have ever seen me loose my temper they never have. When i loose my temper things get broken.
Give you people an idea, normally it would be raised voice scale of 1-10 0.5, thats normal for me and the jobcentre, but if this keeps happening I'm going to go 10. think hurricane / tornado / meteorite destruction, better yet think of london when they had those people go nuts to give you an idea, that would be me loosing my temper 10 scale.
cause they are certainly pushing me that way.
I have a uni-brow sign of anger. before i signed on I was able to control my temper, sit in a dark room and listen to classical music. and think of pleasant things it doesnt work now.

if your claim has ended you wont be signing on. i feel i need to repeat a detail. you dont get your claim ended due to a sanction. a sanction just means they dont pay your benefit or ni credits. during this time you would still sign on. if they have closed your claim it wont be due to a sanction. although it could be related to the offence. most people dont get their claim closed when they get sanctioned. you really need to seek advice from cab, a solicitor etc. it also sounds like you have grounds for putting in a formal complaint if they keep stopping your money. it sounds like they dont like you and are doing it to cause you upset. so like i said you really need to seek proper help and advice.

Theres the thing. I am signing on next tuesday, but the council when i phoned them today informed me why my rent has increased from £11.80 a week to £70.80 a week due to me no longer claiming JSA, I said I am claiming JSA next tuesday I will be signing on as I do every 2 weeks, its just some idiot in the HAVANT jobcentre who thinks is a good idea to close my claim down every and send me a form JR44? to keep it open, which i have to fill out and send back in ASAP. last week I got 2 of these forms, i filled both in and sent them both back in the same envelope.

Well the last time i saw my onbudsman MP willets, he said they where right to stop my benefits. mind you that was about 5years ago.
    his a tory.
Well put it this way. since August 2012, i had it stopped in August, september, october, I appealed / reconsideration and had 3 of the sanctions lifted out of the 4 given. 2 where done on time, the 3 for some reason was the first one so the payment i got wasnt for the time i thought it was for, but for 3 months earlier. and of course was now to late to appeal against that 4th one. oh then of course there was december 5th - 19th, which i didnt get told about until Jan 2013, Jan they left me alone, and started again in Feb.

Hell, i remember a time when they gave me a 6months sanction so i signed off, then 6months later after the sanction ended I signed back on only for them to try and reinstate the old sanction due to the fact I didnt continue signing. I remember it well it was at the end october 2009, I was told 6months, told the advisor I'll be back in 6months and to sign me off, she didnt and kept my JSA open till the end of November, according to her I was told in november verbally which is funny considering in that month i never entered the building at all.
Basically the old sanction reinstated 6months later after i lived without any money for 6months, so I appealed against the reinstated sanction and won.
advisor says I should still be sanction as I wasnt signing in that period of being sanctioned after I won the appeal.
Not the worst sanction. how about 3 x 6 month sanctions to run at the same time. 3 sanctions to appeal and win. if you win the first 1 your still sanctioned for the other 6months. if you win 2 or 3 the other sanction still take effect so you have to win all 3.
example March 6 month sanction, then in april 2x 6months sanctions for exactly the same reason, same dates as the march. making a total of 7 months. They did that to me 3 times in 3 years. And I won each and every one of them.
so 9 appeals for 9 sanctions.

Cab office local has been shut down. I did see a solicitor and as soon as i mention jobcentre that was the end of the conversation. They have gotten rid of the complaint box and you now have to speak to one of the advisors if you have a complaint, to which i was told nothing could / would be done until after the adjudication had been decided on the sanction.

Due to my conversation on the phone the other day I'm waiting for a letter to arrive saturday telling me i'm banned from the portsmouth branch, for using the B word. not to the woman on the phone but to her colleague in the Havant jobcentre who put it in for a sanction.
Name for a female dog. also a tv show on channel for Dont trust the b in appartment 23 i think it was called.

There is clearly an issue that needs to be sorted out, so can you get a mediator to express your feelings, and points to the DSS, as not everyone is perfect. But there seems to be points that digress from them paying you, to being entitled?

    Not getting the full story?

it is correct that if you sign off they just reinstate the sanction when you next claim. however after 6 months of not signing they are supposed to wipe the slate clean. of course this rule could change when universal credit comes in.
why didnt you claim hardship payments?

If the DSS are so upset regarding their conditions, and are going on strike again....WHAT THE HELL THE CONDITIONS FOR THE UNEMPLOYED!?

Maybe the unemployed should go on strike?

We have to adhere to all these rules and regulations, if you don't appear for an interview, sanctions. You are not allowed to be ill, sanctioned, if you refuse to go sanctioned.

When the unemployed go on strike, that is called a Riot. Or Civil Unrest.

why didnt you claim hardship payments?

I was told by my advisor at the time, I could apply for hardship payments but I WOULDN'T get it, so i'd be wasting my time applying. Didn't give me a reason to why though.
Maybe due to the fact I live at home with my mum.
before you say it, The only reason i dont have my own place is because i'm unemployed and it didnt make sense as and this was my theory when i signed on, what happens if i get my benefits stopped, I would still need money to pay rent, gas, water, electric, food etc or else I would be kicked out for not paying. hence the reason I didnt move out. And besides by staying here, I can save more.
My mum gets what she wants out of what i get paid to go towards food and bills, and i pay for the car which she cant drive, but which is mostly used by her, I use it for signing on, going to A4e and job interviews and doing her shopping.

As for the change to the way people are paid universal credit, I can see more people being sanctioned.

Ratboy, not getting the full story, they say I'm not looking hard enough to find employment, no matter what i put down on the form.
Due to my circumstances and thought I would be helped by the A4E work program as in WORK PLACEMENT which they still havent done, which if i wasnt on a4e I could have done under the jobcentre.
I have a lack of no work history, lack of experience and no references which is why its hard for me to apply for work.
99% of online job forms require you to put down references which i have NONE not even personal as your not allowed to put down family.
in the jobcenter folder which was on the table in front of me last year when i signed i opened it and saw to work placements, so i asked about them with the advisor i saw. After looking at my details on her screen she said I "COULDN'T do it through the jobcentre as i was on the work program, and would have to go through A4E or else I would loose my benefits.", basically I would have to contact A4E who intern would contact the jobcentre who would then put me on the course but it would have A4E as the sender not Jobcentre, and therefore I would be ok.
However, 2 days before my appointment with A4E they phoned me and cancelled my appointment due to reorganising, so waited for my appointment in 2013, and was told to discuss it at my next appointment, but when i asked them about work trial the only thing they wanted to talk about was doing volunteering, I said NO work trial, and was told that was the end of the appointment and I would be sent a letter telling me my next, which was going to be about covering letters.
No letter arrived. then i got a text on my phone about my next appointment, when i arrive at that txt msg date, I was told I missed my last appointment which was the previous friday, erm how can you "fail to attend an appointment" when you dont know about it?
and still nothing just asked a few questions like hows you jobsearch going, and let me print up your next appointment which will be in APRIL.
april 10th. as i said whats the point of A4E, they are only interested in you doing what THEY want.
Whilst I was waiting for this date they where talking to some other bloke and talking about how they just sent 5 people to an interview with some company, and how 1 of them failed due to his personality, as in he was loud as where the people he would be working with and they wanted someone to be the opposite quiet to calm the others. Whilst another failed due to his and you'll find this funny, HANDSHAKE they were told, he would be great for the job but his handshake was weak so that meant he was weak. so he wouldnt make it. I couldnt believe my ears on the BS i was hearing.
