So there is no 35 job searching coming in to play as already suggested on many threads on here?
i doubt there is. if it did happen i would certainly ask how they suggest i fill the time. i suspect that they may bring something in where they mandate people to a course that involves spending all day every day jobsearching. it is likely to be for those they think arent doing enough. its just a theory though.

and where are they going to put these people? The WP have no room at all and nor does the job centre.

IDS has openly stated that he expects job searching to be a full time activity (i.e. 35 hours). There may be impracticalities, like not enough computers, but that won't stop Jobcentre advisers from using this as a way to sanction people because that is the real aim of this.

I'm the one who said about the jobcentre will introduce in the coming months when they change their rules about job searching and it will be 35hrs a week, I was told this by ANDY BROWN, manager, havant Jobcentre, mind you he also said I would get a letter and I wouldnt be banned, well he was right about the letter but no about the ban.
I dont think the jobcentre know what the hell they are doing, yesterday i got a letter telling me I wouldnt be paid from the 13th Feb, yet when i checked my bank I was paid on the 15th Feb maybe it was an error on their part, and it should have been for the first time i went down to the portsmouth branch.
All I know is if you ask the same question to 2 or more different advisors you get different answers from all of them.

Anyone else see the report on MP's on yahoo the other day,
about their wages and expenses, and the fact that after their pay of £65,000 they then claim an extra £400 a month for FOOD,

someone voicing their opinion saying they think people should do 35 hours isnt the same as making it a legal requirement.

the payment will have been for the period up to the 13th feb i suspect.

They can not really sanction people if they have no access to computers for 35 hours a week like the ones who use the library etc

Another question (of many) - has anybody ever requested feedback after applying for jobs on JM? It seems a bit pointless if jobs you applied for in December still only say Received, and not Viewed.

1)this feature within the system is a wasit of time becuase every job that i applied for a nd requested feedback on never got a response. what is the point of it
    2) after a long lengthy discussion with one of the advisers she stated that they dont "dwp" check the authenticity of either the employer or of the job that appear on the gateway websites .
    3) most of the jobs that appear on that site a from agencies who you have to regiset with, go for an interview and then do the same thing again if you actually get a job interview with an employer

THE DWP can not make people apply for jobs advertised by agencies as they have no policy to hlep with travel to the agency as its not a job interview.

Tell me about it. I live in a constituency that is 50 minutes away by rail to St Pancras, and you could get to the house of commons within 90 minutes at a push. However, while those on JSA would have to apply for and take jobs which are within that travel time, my MP feels that he requires a flat in London at the tax payers expense. He also needs to claim the full £100 a week food allowance, even though his wife is his secretary and he pays her £40 grand a year!!

    Now that's what I call troughing:D
