  • Feel for you OP, but you are better than them. Stop trying to make contact with these very petty childish women. Drop your children off and pick them up from school with your head held high. You have done nothing wrong, they will soon pick on another. Don't be tempted back into their little clique.

    Big hugs.

Unfortunately though, if it isn’t sorted soon the spitefulness could spread through the kids – its already started to happen from what OP said about the birthday party and only one of the children of this group turned up :(

Oh gosh that's a bit scary isn't it? The mum in question has told me a lot of things about her life and her unhappy marriage so maybe it's something like that in my case? Nowt as queer as folk I suppose!

    That will probably be it.

I had a big falling out with my ante-natal group of friends. There was loads of !!!!!iness about everyone (2 members of our clique left in the early days due to not wanting to be part of it.) Most of the !!!!!ness emanated from one woman, (I'll call her the alpha female, she already had one child so everyone deferred to her), whoever wasn't there would be the subject and, as the kids were approaching school age I decided I didn't want to be part of it any more. When the birthday of the alpha woman's child was approaching I asked one of the others (ironically the one who was !!!!!ed about the most) if she was buying a present and said I couldn't be bothered with them any more. This was relayed to the woman not as, I couldn't be bothered with the clique, but that I couldn't be bothered with her (special needs) son.

All hell broke loose with the rest of the group siding with the alpha female. Luckily the kids were all about to start (different) schools and I was about to go back to work so it made not a jot of difference to me as I was sick of them anyway but that's enough about me ( :o ) it can't be much fun for you OP. I think you have to approach the weaker member and ask exactly what it is you're supposed to have done.

Sounds about right...seen it just as mojisola describes when I used to collect and pick up my neices, and when I nannied and picked up other people's kids too. The great thing about not being a mum is that nobody bothers too much what you think so you get left out of all the silliness. When anyone did ever try to draw me in I found my phone was buzzing and 'I have to take this, sorry, it might be their Mummy'.

Could she think that you have repeated any of it (whether you have or not?)

I don't know what she thinks tbh. I haven't repeated any of it, but I don't know if she's told other people or not and one of those has repeated it?

dinosaur train, i am in a similar predicament at work, a senior member of staff, like myself, confided her marital woes to me, which i didnt and havent repeated. I helped her get back on track with her relationship, was there everystep of the way. As soon, as her relationship was resolved, she turned on me, i was inadequate at my job, making mistakes, getting the blame for mistakes, untill, i eventually had no self confidence whatsoever.

This so called work mate, then took it upon herself to ask if i was bipolar, and if i needed medical help!!!!!! i am not and i dont by the way lol. It has resulted in me working for three months, in a very unhappy environment, crying daily, i have however, handed my notice in and i leave soon.

The moral of this is,,, it will be someone elses turn in the playground/workplace next, it wont be your problem, so take a step back, and watch it all unravel ;)

forgot to add, my personal opinion was/is, she is jealous of my life???? why i will never know, maybe its because i have a strong relationship with my hubby, who knows. I think she just thought that by dragging me down, made her feel happier in her life. Maybe this mum is jealous of you
