Just wanted to say thank you for this. Applied and just been accepted . I'm assuming because it's MBNA the supplementary card will have the same long number but I've asked for one anyway.

Could one of you multi-card !!!!!s (:p) help me with this one;

I used the Shell promotion (£15 off £50 spend) on both mine and my wifes Amex Gold cards. I checked in using two different FourSquare accounts on two different phones in advance of the visit then paid using the Amex Gold.

I used my card first then my wifes about a week later, they have credited me for the transaction on my wifes card but not mine and I'm wondering if there is a problem or just the usual delay in processing the transaction.

I believe that as per Amex's own terms we were eligible for the promotion on both cards (i.e. once per card number) so if there is a problem will they argue we've had the credit once or just sort it out?

They'll just sort it out. As you say you're perfectly within the terms and conditions. I've had a supplementary card not be credited before and they sorted it within a few hours of sending them a message via my online account.

Amex might be sorting out missing payments on their own cards but they're doing nothing at all on Amex branded MBNA cards.

Emails are being ignored despite empty promises of replies within 48 hours no matter how many times you try. Time to escalate it!

What have MBNA got to do with the Gold card? I've never had a problem with MBNA cards in the first place anyway.

Just a general observation on how Amex deal with failed cashback on MBNA Amex cards.

Wowee - they do Diptyque scented candles. They are DELICIOUS (especially Baies) and v difficult to buy anywhere less than £40 (I've even been to the Diptyque shop in Paris!) .
