It's almost certainly a work of complete fiction by a poster who pops up every now and again with a brand new account and some more or less absurd story relating to Tesco.
Previous versions have included such gems as "Tesco to charge 50p for an itemised receipt" and "someone stole my trolly from the trolly store and Tesco won't refund me".
Unfortunately, there are always posters who take the bait and we have a some slightly surreal thread hanging around for a couple of days.
I loved that one:rotfl:If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

Ahhhhh, the "Tesco !!!!!!" is back. Been quite a while this time, must have had a residential stay at one of the UK's fine institutions. Question is which one?0

Judging by your name, I'll go out on a limb and guess that there was likely a degree of racism involved. Either that or simply mistaken identity, or a 3rd scenario - You have been before and acted out.
However, one thing is, they couldn't have detained you. You haven't committed a crime or theft in-store so they had no power to do so. You should have called their bluff and got them to ring the police0 -

Oh the magnet story! That one is right up there in the MSE Wall of Fame. I actually cried laughing at that one - there were some hilarious replies :rotfl:"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0
