I bought Brabantia tin opener from amazon recently.
Awesome product, so easy to open any tin! Really pleased! Works very well much better than my previous tin opener which i bought in Tesco

By the way, I have Brabantia Ironing board which was pricey but it help to make my life easier. Now ironing is more pleasure than chore :beer::beer:“The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them.”

We have the Tesco value electric can opener, it was £5 about 4 years ago and still going strong! I just cant get on with normal can openers, I can never get them to work.

have just bought a 'catania' can opener from the poundshop two weeks ago, it looks like one of the £5 types (but I paid £1!), thought it might be risky but worth a try and have been happy with it so far, find it easy to use, so fingers crossed...
well after four months, this has fallen apart. literally, the bit that cuts through the tin has fallen off. so don't buy from poundworld!0 -
So many tin openers are rubbish i'm glad more and more things are starting to have ring pulls.
The problem with the ring pull cans is that they don't stack as easy as normal cans. One knock and they're sliding about on top of each other and almost falling on your head.
Not so sure what's so hard about making cans that stack, that have the ring pulls. I mean it's 2013, we've just sent a robot to Mars. Thank God it doesn't run on baked beans. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
I have three tin openers, none of which work well. My solution is to avoid buying cans whenever possible !0

Tin openers come in two types.
The old "cut into the lid" type. These leave a safe edge around the top, but a sharp edge around the lid. However, the lid drops down inside the empty can for recycling. The lid is relatively thick metal, so they're hard work to use. The best opener of this type I've ever owned was on a Victorinox Swiss army knife.
The new "cut into the side" type. These leave a safe edge on the lid, but a sharp edge all around the top. The side is relatively thin metal, so they're easier to use. I have a Culinare "MagiCan" one.
I also have one of their electric "One Touch" ones, which I got for my Mum. It's never failed to open a tin (unless the batteries are running down, in which case you also need a backup hand one).If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?
