Can anyone suggest a good tin opener please?

I thought this was the best place to post. I'm hoping someone can suggest a tin opener that they've bought which is truly effective with a reasonable life span?
In recent years I've spent in excess of £5 on the nice ones with padded grips as they're far easier to use. However, they rarely seem to last beyond a year before going blunt which seems a poor show.
More recently I've been buying the 44p "butterfly" ones from Wilko's which are horrible to use but do the job. That said, I find myself increasingly taking these back to the store as either they're blunt to begin with or only last a few months. I'm only opening about 3 tins a week so it can't be overuse!
I don't mind paying more for a tin opener if it's going to last. Please, can anyone suggest a viable alternative?
Thank you.

It's not exactly what you are asking for but a few years ago my husband bought me an electronic tin opener like this one from Kenwood. It cost around £15, but it's still going strong.
I remember thinking it was a ridiculous purchase at the time but I love it now, takes all the hassle out of opening tins0 -
I'll keep an eye on this thread! I've bought dozens of the damned things, from the Swiss Kuhn Rikon ones (which are claimed to be the best) through to the rubbishy Magican type, which seem to get flimsier and less use with each version.
The company which finally makes one that works and stays working for longer than a fortnight, is going to clean-up!0 -
I've got one of these, and it's brilliant.

I must've been through hundreds of the rubbishy little butterfly ones, but i've had this for about 3 years and it still works as well as the day I got it.0 -
Indeed they are very good products. Can also recommend the masher.0

I have an alternate Good Grips one, agree they are brilliant.

Been using one for 47 years and it has never failed.
And no, I've never cut myself with one either.0 -
I am lucky if they last a fortnight, even the ones over £5. How come when I was a child, even the simple butterfly ones seemed to last years?DONT BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE. GET YOUR ANIMALS NEUTERED TO SAVE LIVES.0

I nearly started a similar thread.
I bought this a few months ago and so far, it's great.
