Have I got a hope in hell of moving before xmas?

Anyone got any idea why Bovis would offer the full market value for OH's house and then immediately put it on the market at 10% less than that?

I guess they maybe are hoping that will entice someone to buy it quickly and then they will get their money 'released' quicker. I am buying a house taken in Part Ex from a developer and they have accepted £30,000 less than asking price, subject to a quick sale. Unfortunately they are the ones holding it up as their new build isn't ready so the house I am buying is still being lived in :-(0 -
Find out in 9 minutes time whether or not we have passed the underwritters stage....:eek:Living frugally at 24

Seems like Bovis are the ones holding it up now - I've had to chase their sales office who are chasing their legal department because legal haven't replied to the questions asked by my solicitor. Searches are back, solicitor was just looking at them when I phoned her earlier.
Hopes of exchanging this Friday (14th) are fading fast... If we can't exchange by 17th then I don't think we can realistically complete on 21st, far too much to organise before then. 4th Jan looking more likely maybe?Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -
Bovis like all house builders have priced a part exchange into their selling price to you. The £10k less will be a price they know they can sell for in a reasonable time period.
Hope that helps

Good luck, I hope they get everything sorted so you get in next week!
Thanks, not that it's going to happen unless solicitors let OH take away the contract for me to sign as he's there now and I've been up ill all night so going nowhere today! _pale_Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -
We're exchanging on Tues 18th and completing on Fri 21st! Very excited now! :j
OH is bringing all the documents round this weekend to sign - not today, even though it's made me feel better we don't want anyone else getting ill! And I just have to phone the solicitor today so she can talk me through the legal jargon then we're sorted

That's great you have set some dates! Did your solicitor get all the answers to their enquiries before your OH signed? We finally received all the searches/fixtures fittings etc etc, but solicitor has only just sent of enquiries so not sure if we have to wait until they are back to sign the paperwork? I am hoping we can exchange before xmas so we can get packing whilst OH has lots of time off! hope you feel better soon.0 -

I think it all depends how detailed your enquiries are. We had about a page of questions mostly stuff our solicitor was clarifying. They were sent about 3 weeks ago and spoke solicitors this week who told me they have had no reply. So I rang the agents and asked the chase it up and we should get them back middle of next week now. Our solicitor said its unlikely we will exchange before Christmas.0
