  • You're way too generous :rolleyes: Has he even sent the item yet? If not and the item does arrive I would think a neutral would be about right. Feedback should be a reflection of the whole transaction and show other prospective buyers your experience of the seller. Up until you have found the seller to be very poor at communication and very slow at posting. Surely that isn't a positive experience? I would want to warn others if I were you.

    He says he sent the item yesterday. We'll see if it turns up tomorrow. His last message to me was nice, which makes it harder to leave neutral or negative feedback. Here's what he said:

    "[FONT=Arial, Verdana]Hi

    your item has been sent. Once again I am sorry for the delay but I do have a job which makes it difficult to get to the post office as soon as an item is paid for. Thanks for your comments I will consider them when I put further items up for sale on ebay. "

    He has left me positive feedback now, so I'm under no threat of a retaliatory neg. Oh, I don't know what to put!! What would you actually say?

  • Blaming it on his job again. It sounds like he wants sympathy. I don't feel sorry for him at all. Many sellers on eBay have full-time jobs and still manage to post during their lunchbreak. If it was really going to be a problem posting then IMO it should have been mentioned in the listing so that people were aware.

    If the item arrives and is OK, I would say something like:

    'Pleased with item but poor communication & unreasonable postage delay'
    --><-- Sugar Coated Owl --><--

    could always leave a positive with a couple of words about the delivery timescale. then just use the new feedback system to put your overall score. that is if the item arrives safely and is as you expected...

    I have read through the thread and think the thing is lack of communication... had the seller said at the offset that he /she wouldn't be able to post for 5 days (working or not) would that have helped? I do have a job where getting to the post office is hard /lunch time or not (what is one of them lol), my job is 9 - 5:30 Mon - Fri and I am normally at my desk for 8am.. leave at 5:30 and I hardly ever take a lunch break too busy.. (no I am not looking for sympathy or a medal... my choice :-) ), however I have sold 6 items on ebay in last week and the longest I took to package/post is 2 days... I try to make sure listings end on a weekend so I can get them packaged up, and try to make sure I have a bunch finishing at the same time so trip to post office is only 1/2 hour 45 min out of a week rather than trips every few days..... and I am lucky my post office near work is open till 5:30..unlike some... but to wait 7 days and lack of communication is not on really...

    Yep, it's the lack of communication that's the problem. Had he messaged me and explained the situation early on, I wouldn't have been annoyed. I'm a fairly reasonable person (most of the time) and understand that work gets in the way and things get delayed. However, it doesn't take two ticks to send a message to a buyer to say sorry and explain things. However, he has said that he will take on board what I said and apply it to his future auctions.

    So basically we can agree, mess up's do happen, we are all prone to lapses with our posting times, but if we communicate then we can all remain happy. like today I had an email off someone that bought a phone... asked me when posting (1 day after close of auction), not because she/he was anxious, but a gift and wanted to make sure daughter didn't get the package... I replied no problem I will send to your work address if you like... (we spoke on phone in between and yes I know Niave but I do think you can tell alot by speaking to someone)

    On another note I sold (and lets not get into rights /wrongs) 2 robbie tickets for Wembly... (ended up Milton Keynes Bowl)... spoke to guy that won. he was happy I was genuine, sent him tickets when I had them..... I communicated with him all way along... tickets were late coming out.. had to send overnight ( cost me more than P & P and yes he was out of claim time), but worth it.... and I think that is def the key communication
