If the delivery is going to be delayed, he should have put it in his auction. Personally, I don't think it's too much to expect my item to be posted within 7 days, as per ebay rules. He's lost Paypal seller protection now, as he hasn't posted the item out within 7 days of the auction end. Sellers can't take as long as they like when sending out items - hence non-performing seller complaints.
non-performing seller disputes can be opened after 10 days. to some people on ebay, that is 10 working days...0 -
where in ebay rules does it say items have to posted after 7 days? is that 7 normal days or 7 working days?

You're right in that it's 10 days. According to Ebay, it's 10 days since the auction ended (not working days):You paid for an item but didn't receive it
"You can begin this process at any time between 10 days and 60 days after the listing ended"
He's lost seller protection through Paypal, as that is 7 days (not working days) from receipt of payment.
"The seller posts the item(s) to the buyer within 7 days of receiving payment."
I'm sorry, but I think you're living in Cloud Cuckoo Land if you think I should have emailed the seller beforehand to ask how long it would take him to send the item out. I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect the item to have been sent out by now, or at least have had some form of communication from the seller explaining why it hasn't been sent out (without any prompting from me, that is).
Remind me not to buy from you in future.

you are expectng delivery within 7 working days, even though only 5 days have passed.
Are you the seller by any chance, because you seem hell bent on attacking the Op.
p.s Saturdays do count because we recieve mail on this day0 -

Funny how he can get to the PO on Mon but couldn't Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat. I purchased 2 items on Buy it Now on Easter Monday. I could have bid on these as there was an option but wanted them quickly. Got a message from the seller on Saturday (5 days later) afternoon saying that one of the items was a different colour to advertised - did I still want it. WHY has he waited 5 days to even think about this??? Surely the point of BIN is so you don't have to wait for an auction to finish..0

jeezzz....too many buyers on ebay are far too impatient - yes i mean you above - paying by paypal does not earn the right to a speedy delivery. the seller has done nothing wrong. the guy has replied to your email and given a satisfactory response. give the guy a break & chillout.
I think you will find that it is the seller that is too chilled out that is causing a problem0 -

if a buyer buys from me at 5.31pm on a friday and does not get any contact from me til 9.01am monday, i'm not doing anything wrong. i am repsonding within business hours. saturday & sunday (& bank holidays) are not classed as working days.......0 -
just because you get mail on a saturday does not mean sellers on ebay work on saturdays or sundays. i work mon-fri on ebay. not weekends.

well argue as you will, it still does not hold any weight with paypal sellers protection that states that sellers must dipatch their items in 7 days, I repeat not 7 working days0 -

I'm also a seller, remember. However, I always contact my buyers as soon as the auction finishes, given them information about when I will be dispatching the item (normally the same day, or next working day). If there's any reason for delay, I write to them again explaining the delay and apologising. I keep in touch with my buyers throughout the transaction process, making sure the item was delivered ok and that they are happy with it. I then leave feedback. I have been buying and selling on Ebay for 8 years. I don't think I am expecting too much from this seller, and don't think I need to "chillout". The fact that the seller has failed to communicate with me throughout the transaction process, not even sending me a courtesy email for winning his auction, speaks volumes about this seller. The fact that he chose to ignore my first message to him asking if he'd sent the item, even though he had time enough to leave feedback on Ebay for another seller, also says so very much. The complete lack of communication from this seller is what really annoys me. (Sorry, the message he sent to me last night doesn't count, as I had to message him twice to get even that from him.)In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

I think this bloke has made it quite clear that he's not an Ebay business. He's a private seller. He works Monday to Friday (not on Ebay). That means he can post on Saturday morning, especially if the auction finished a week previous to that. If he couldn't get to the PO, he could have had the decency to contact me. You cannot compare your own Ebay business to a private seller.
It's 7 days, not 7 working days according to Paypal. 10 days, not 10 working days for Ebay (to receive the item, not send it).In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
