  • A high proportion do.

So. Should those at risk of catching infections be penalised by having their sick pay taken away? Or should sick pay depend on the department you work in?
No just let them have 6 mths off paid
  • a jab at the unemployed is that?

So if you work for the NHS and get full pay and have cancer you can be sacked too? Wow.

Of course. If you aren't fit for work for any reason you can be sacked (once due process has been followed).

I was no more jabbing you than you were jabbing NHS workers. Touch of the green eyed monster there?

    Who? Everyone?

6 months full pay in any 5 year period isn't that generous in the circumstances.

Many are paid peanuts as it is.

I have never worked for any company that pays sick pay at all and maybe some people should see how the others live in this country and then moan the NHS has no ££ when there are people on here posting that people who work there take the !!!! and call in sick all the time.

I've never worked for a company that doesn't pay sick pay or private medical insurance. Doesn't mean I've ever taken the p!ss. In fact, I had a private op under GA and was back working (from home) the next day (was offered a 2 week sick note).

Over a 5 year period thats 5.2 paid weeks each year which sounds ok to me.

The NHS pay ok salaries as you can check online to see what they offer.
  • Yes cause of course everyone in the hospital who is a patient has something that you can catch, NOT!

I do love a good "NOT" joke. I'm a big Borat fan you see.

Back to the thread, I could wish illness upon you OP if it would make you happier?
I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!

Depends on your definition of okay, doesn't it?

I wouldn't get out of bed for a nurse's salary.

I believe you. I don't class that as a particularly good salary though.
