Now I have a dilema and I want everyone's opinions..
I have £50 a week to live off - this includes food, shopping and anything else I can think of. Now, for a while I've been wanting to buy some new running shoes as I need/want to start running again. I've been looking around at different prices for running trainers, and the lowest price I can find is £40. Should I buy them? I need to start getting fit again. I'm joined at a gym at the moment, and this runs out in about a week I think. I am not joining again as its really expensive and I can't afford it. I want to go running as its free and great exercise. I'm just worried about the expense, and if I can manage food shopping on £10 for one week?!

I know I'm not a regular on this thread, but I am sure you can manage on £10 just for one week, as presumably you have things already in your cupboards and freezer.

If you post on Old Style what you already have, they will help you sort out some meals from your existing ingredients. How many are you feeding? Is it just yourself? If so I should think you can easily do it.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

    Dear SF,
go for it - you'll save money in the long run (no pun intended!!) if you buy shoes rather than gym fees.

running shoes = health therefore health=necessary

If you've got £50 a week can you not borrow a little from next weeks £50 to help out foodwise?

£10 might be a bit tight, in my mind anyway, but like BOGOF said have a look at what you've got in and what you can make out of your cuboards to help keep your spending low.

My day went pretty well and Big Boss man seemed quite impressed :) Although he didnt buy me lunch lol cant win every time!

I didn't get pull ups, I got disposable bed sheets (like Kylie sheets) for 4.29 from boots - my Dad paid for swimming and they bought a picnic with them (BLESS!).

I have been to dr's with DD1 and apparently it's 'normal' til the age of 7!! I don't tell them off if they have an accident just praise when they don't.

Hope every1's had a good day Luv Jx

Decent running shoes are worth their price. Though I'm begging you make sure you get shoes suitable for the shape of your feet if you intend to run more than a couple of miles a couple of times a week. An ex of mine bought the wrong pair of running shoes and then spent hundreds of pounds on physio to sort out the damage that was done to his knees.

Hi Jet - sounds like a good move to me with the sheets - no big deal for DDs and no washing for you! May be a tad expensive though!

Never mind, but Dr is right IMO carrots always work better than sticks!

I have had a sort of no spend day! Used some of shopping budget & bought a couple of plants that I wanted - then went to boots to use up my points on holiday things but... all the things that I would normally buy seemed so unnecesary! I've got lotions & creams that will last until I retire already in cupboard - do need new knickers though - they are compulsory for holidays!!

Pleased it went well for you today CAFCgirl - shame about the lunch though.
