brassiclint - mine are all in separate accounts, sainsbury's saving accounts are great as you can have up to 20, though I also have online saver accounts with egg and lloydstsb as I already had those. My rainy day account is currently my lloydstsb account as if I need to transfer money into my account it's done immediately.

I find envelopes best for me personally - I withdraw the exact change from the bank and allocate it to the appropriate envelope. I can see exactly where I am with everything then and find it's easier to stick for coz the money you NEED is there.
DD's wet themselves in the night EVERY night and I feel like I really can't cope with anything in the day. 4 times I was up changing sheets last night and the washing I wake up to in the morning is just a joke. I have run out of money from this weeks budget and really need to buy some pull ups so that I can just have 1 night of sleep. DD1 is 6 in June and DD2 is 4 - DD2 is 'usually' dry at night if I stay up till 10.30 to put her on toilet before I go to bed. By this time DD1 has already wet herself. DD1 wets herself at least 1 more time in the night. Because of her age she doesn't want to wear pull-ups but I've talked to her (again) about it this morning and she's said she will wear them tonight so we can all get some sleep - however this means DD2 will want to wear them and she doesn't really need to. DD2 will therefore deliberately wet the bed to make out that she needs a pull-up on to.
Anyway sorry for rambling, I basically was just declaring the fact that I'm going to buy pull-ups today despite having no money left as I simply can't cope anymore!!!!

Oh Jet, you ramble if you wish:grouphug:
It must be really getting you down.
I know it's hard, but try not to make too big a deal of it with the girls, just loads of hugs and praise when they do manage. Just come and ramble on to us.
Go buy the pull-ups and have a good nights sleep tonight.

Hi All - Jet, my friend's son used to wet the bed at the age of 7 and she went to the doctor who gave her an alarm which sounded just before he was about to wet the bed so woke him up - not quite sure how it worked, or where it was put on his body, but I do remember that in around 4 weeks he was dry at night - maybe you could ask the doctor if there is anything still like this for your DDs. It must be hard not only not getting any sleep, but constantly washing all the bedding every day.
Well gang, I have to admit I think I am going to leave the challenge. My reason for this is that I really don't spend £10 a week on MYSELF. The last 3 weeks have shown me that my money mainly goes on other people, i.e., the kids, OH, friends and very rarely on myself - so don't really see the point for me. For example, last night we went bowling (£30 in clubcard deals - thanks Mr T), had to pay £6 for the balance, spent £10 on drinks and £3 on chips. Now of that £10, mine was only £2.70 and I didn't have any chips. So the rest of the money was spent on everyone else.
My OH is spending normally, and I do feel that I shouldn't suffer by NOT spending when he just spends as and when he wishes!!!! I will not go mad and will still watch what I spend, and will still come onto this thread, but for now it is au revoir, and thanks for your support and 'vitrual' friendship whilst I have been in the gang.
My main thanks goes to Queenie :kisses3: who without the Lent challenge and this one would not show me the error of my ways and make me THINK before spending ANY money - curtsey
Good bye and good luck everyone :hello:When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -
:grouphug: :grouphug: for Jet - thats miserable, I really do want to encourage you to visit the Dr with DD1. They really could help I'm sure. Do whatever you need to do to get a good nights sleep. I'm sure the girls rarely do it deliberately. Give them loads and loads of praise when they do have a dry night.
I just have one savings account and one current account. All money allocated for things that I won't spend this month goes into savings account, and I have a spreadsheet that I downloaded off MSE somewhere, designed by EagerLearner, that keeps track of what money is for what. Current account is for spending this month - and money left over at the end goes to paying off overdraft atm. But once I'm debt free will get transfered to savings account for big purchases and emergencies etc.ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away0 -
I've failed this week already (good start eh) But, I am trying to learn to cook and be OS so I had to go into town and get an oven thermometer and order Delia's how to cook book:o Today I've just ordered a breadmaker too, I have a soy allergy and find it hard to get bread with no soya flour in, also I'm hoping that by making my own bread I won't do so many odd trips to the supermarket for bread (coming out with £20 worth of other stuff too).
So, I'm starting monday with my £10 and promise to do a bit better.0 -
Well today I have broken into my weekly £10. I bought a hot chocolate in town, which came with a free kitkat Yay, and bought a packet of monster munch too.
A grand total of £4.48/10
Well have now added a bottle of Irish Knights to my total.
